Could they make the discs uglier or would doing so turn onlookers to stone?

Came here hoping to find a comment like this, but not quite the one I was looking for, hahaha..

I was scrolling through Facebook and had to doubletake because it looked like a middle schools sexual education drawing.

You know which one I am talking about.

    Now y’all can’t unsee :)

They should do a golden one with the Beast Wars soundtrack on it.

Please, stop calling multiple vinyl records "vinyls". Vinyl is the plural form of vinyl.

That's why the first run immediately sold out, there are thousands of new records released every week and thriving vinyl record stores the world over.

That said, it is foolish that they haven't made a digital release, or done what a lot of records do and include an mp3 download link with the vinyl.

Easy to sell out when your production run is upper hundreds or lower thousands in a nation of over 325 million. Pretty sure I could "sell out" of my toenail clippings on eBay too.

And you're going to have to back that "thousands of new records each week" up. Unless, of course, you're defining "new record" as an individual black disc and not a new album release. In that case, record sales are positively dwarfed by sales of individual Froot Loops.

    Oh shit, it's only Thursday.

    Never mind.

    I'm suitably embarrassed now.

Ugly or not - people will be buying 'em up. I got the first run, now I need the next batch for my wall display.

    Now that would be cool.

Interesting, you can place pre-orders on FYE. Well, that's one less I'll have to worry about tomorrow.

Granted, 14% of all physical music media is still pretty low. That means only 3 out of every 20 people are purchasing vinyl. 2018, it might push up to 1 out of every five, though. Unfortunately, there's a limit in that you either need a local Barnes & Noble or a dedicated record store to have a decent flux of new albums every week. Until Target, Walmart and/or Best Buy get their act together and dedicate an aisle to new vinyl, I think sales will remain under 20% for the near future.

As for the Transformers score, from what I can see on the first run, a bunch of Transformers music fans bought a copy with no intention of ever listening to it. Many bought two, hoping to sell the second copy for a mint on a limited run. That made me a sad panda as someone out there has a copy I'd gladly be listening to in my collection that's just sitting there, doing nothing. And no, I won't pay scalper pricing for it.

I'm sure some were wondering why I wasn't able to score one the first time. That's because I was busy that morning taking my mother-in-law to Woundcare regarding her foot amputation and there's zero phone signal in the hospital. After that, I had to go to work. By the time I was able to check in, everything was gone. This time, I'm going to have my friend order by proxy because I'm facing the same set-up as last time where I'll be taking my mother-in-law for (hopefully her penultimate time) another Woundcare appointment tomorrow morning. Here's to hoping he gets one.
