What tax? Why are people adding taxes their respective countries may or may not charge on top and treating it like thats the price TT have set? It's bonkers.

Well Dinobot has a bit of an advantage over Megatron in this regard. Dinobot has an impossible transformation in the show, which resulted in him NEVER getting a figure that even came close to his appearance on screen. It simply wasn't possible. I expected Dinobot to have a lot of R&D and part counts that would boost the price. Yes, Megatron is bigger, but his original Ultra toy was already 85% of the way there. Improving the paint job of the original figure (as we've seen from future japan releases) brings the figure up to 90-95%. While the paint job on this new figure is superb, and the screen accuracy and possibility is beyond what we've ever gotten, it simply isn't the jump like we got from Dinobot. There simply isn't any substitute for MP Dinobot. So I was able to justify the high price for it that way, and also the price was high, but BORDERLINE affordable to me, as long as I hold onto my money wisely and don't go spending on things without real thought and planning.

Megatron just pushes it too far, for me. It's a beautiful figure, and I would LOVE to have my hands on it. But if I had to, I could use one of the better paint jobs on the ultra figure we've seen through the years as a stand in. It would stand out, but it would be an alright representation. I just can't see myself spending $400+ (canadian) on it. And I gotta be fully honest here, I AM tempted. I really do want this. But that's just too high.

 

That includes 8% sales tax they simply included that in the total price.

 

Damn, $250 was my max for this. I'll wait for a sale.

 

Yup, i'm out, it'll be amazing, no doubt, but it's out of my range, i regret cancelling my PO of Dinobot now, i thought megatron wasn't even going to be over 260$, foolish me.

that the japanese tax for residents since our order aren't bought in Japan we normally dont see the 8%. I think AMIAMI was the only one that included the tax in their MSRP

Now that you guys mentioned the original BW Megatron toy... WOW... I'm pretty shocked at just how damn near close the original toy is to the on screen character... The Ultra toy just need a better paint job and voila!
