£239.37 (at current rate) plus a bit extra over here after import cost so probably looking at just over £250 I think.

I love the character and the design but could just be too much for one figure. Will have to wait and see maybe if I can do an AZ JP otherwise I think I will have to tap out....

yep, im definitely bowing out of masterpiece. as much as id like these figures its become too hard to justify the prices when smaller run 3p figures come out cheaper

Dear Lord. $315!? That makes MP-36's $230 tag look like a drop in the bucket. I love BW Megatron, but Takara is milking the fandom hard. It's enough to collect Generations and Studio Series as it is!

Heaven almighty, I dread to think what would happen if they tried an MP of Rampage or Optimal Optimus! You're looking at somewhere north of $350!

 

I wonder if TT are pushing their luck with Megs because they know there's no one else who could be as expensive as him in season one. So they make Megs as pricey as they possibly can so whatever they charge for whoever's next is "cheap" by comparison.

I had no plans to get this guy, but the price really scares me in terms of the trend for all MPs. Just how much is V3 OP going to cost? Cant see BW Megs being more complicated than V3 OP, or more expensive to produce.

 

Watch V3 Prime come with four useless sound boxes and go for $500.

 

With Op Op's size alone, I could see the price easily hitting $400 MSRP. Makes PE's offerings a little tempting

 

yeah, no. I aint paying $300+ of a figure of this size. I can get 3rd party omega supreme for that price. This price is just WAAAAAAAAY too over the top for a figure of this size. In short, go fuck yourself Takara.

 

I don’t spend €300+ on hot toys or soul of chogokin so my money is free to be spent on my favorite thing which is beast wars, so this is still a welcome addition to my bw mp shelf   can’t wait for this guy and any other beast wars masterpiece

@Topic: It'll be interesting to see if Prime is in this price-range, I hope the BW releases are this expensive because of the unique detail put into them and that Prime will be closer to G1 Megatron in price.

If Prime is also this much though then the trend will continue with every figure from now on.

 

Well, I'm much the same. BW MPs are the only "high price" item I buy these days. I could easily afford Megs, technically speaking.

But being able to afford and it being a fair price are two different things. Even if the average Japanese e-tailer puts on a hefty 20% discount, (like Amazon Japan or AE if stars align) you're still looking at 28000y. Which is... better, but still tough.

30% off would be ideal at 24500y. I can swing that, but what place is going to put on a discount that deep?

 

But if people will pay that for a fake Transformer
surely they will pay more for the real thing, right?

I've heard Takara hasn't been doing too well financially lately. I wonder if these pricepoints are a product of that?
