Since there's no actual red on the mask itself, it's possible to use the standard 'Bee one.

 

This is my last XTB figure. Simple transformation but really can tell where there ever so popular need for over complicating things hasn’t helped. I should’ve waited for Mmc. That’s 2 3p cliffs ive got buyers remorse. Ugh curse you completionist self and my persistent need to have a complete MP cast

Curious what part of the transformation you felt was over-complicated? I thought it was pretty straight forward.

 

The nasty back gear wheels 90 degree then fenders 90 degree, fold fold slide fold lol it’s easy but it all seems like the rest of the figures I’ve bought from them, unnecessary. It could’ve been simplified like mp-21 but they had to do what they do. Just my opinion of the figure. I have always been good with XTB then Eligos came, thought toro would redeem that plastic diaper meat but regrettably; it didn’t

You're a tough man to please if two 90 degree bends constitutes nastiness.

 

Yes. I suppose I am. Spent 10k this year on figures and I know what I like and make do with what I must. I’m just kicking XTB from my sights in future releases. Already canceled skids. They’ve got plenty of other folks biz to fret the loss of mine. I like to feel engaged in transformation but I’m not a fan of transforming and thinking, “ damn, it has such potential

 

Thats your prerogative but I'd hardly call it over complicated like you did earlier. If that's the case stay away from anything Badcube related and all of the Fanstoys Movie bots otherwise you'll pass out lol

 

Man, Takara-Tomy and third party producers are making it easy to not spend many but damn difficult to complete a Season 1 and 2 roster.

In addition to my previous objections to these two, now it appears that Hubcap has horribly mismatched paints/colors.

And, 2 of my last 3 3P MP purchases were KFC/X-TBs disappointments; Like, "why the hell do I buy these?! How many times will I be fooled before I wisen up and steer clear of this crap?!".

Oh, yeah: Anyone want to buy a Shitka (only one broken piece) or a "Mint" Eligos?

It is the battle mask face that came with the gold G2 Bumblebee. I just painted the gold part red.

 

It's certainly the fiddliest part of the transformation though, and I get the disappointment after Klaatu and Crackup boasted really stellar transformations. Feels a little 'old skool XTB'. However, it's very much a minor quibble IMO (much like the backpack, which in hand does not bother me one bit).

 

I had a crack at removing the pin that holds the backpack on last night, but I couldn't get it out. Left well enough alone in the end as I can live with it...

 

I got a chance to mess around with this guy a bit last night, and my initial impression is that he is awesome. The backpack doesn't really bother me in hand and he looks absolutely amazing with the other S1 bots. The pain finish is nice and the overall the transformation is really straightforward and intuitive. The plastic quality feels good and he has some good heft to him. In fact, he feels heftier than either of the two Badcube Lambos that I got with him. All in all a great purchase and completing a set of characters feels good.

 

Is there any reason to even transform it the whole way? More articulation or same for the arms? I mean it looks better unfolded on cliffjumper like you are showing, so i am confused as to why the manufacturer wants it folded.

 

Yeah he's chunky. Definitely feels heftier than Steamroll and a number of other, larger third party and MP figures.

 

Not sure ... I mean, it might be marginally more condensed when folded but not enough for me to notice... and the width surely isn't different so no articulation or poses would be changed...

 

MMC has a more complex transformation than XTB.
