I'm with the waterslide/dry rub crew on this one. I don't like the sticker look. If it's going on a masterpiece, it's got to be a proper scale-model quality decal. I have some autobot faction stickers that I've used, but only because I mistakenly bought transparent dry rubs that didn't work at all on an already red bot. Need to get me some with white edging, and some with silver edging, and then these stickers are coming off.

Another thing to keep in mind is viewing distances. Everyone wants their toys to be perfect in every aspect. However, like any design, tolerances must be established. For a collectable, one must understand what distance the observer is from the piece. Anyone who paints will understand this completely.

Is it reasonable to expect the toy deco to be observed under magnification? Or at 1 inch from observer to toy? Or at 6 inches, one foot? 3 feet?. The level of precision needs to meet the reasonable expectation of the viewer.

Toys could be detailed to micron tolerances. However, prices would need to be raised to meet such demands. Takara does not paint their figures to tollerances that would be proper for 6 inch distance viewings; their line blurring is indicative of that fact.

I assume that my figures will be viewed at around 1 foot distances. At this range the repros look as good or better than tampos.

I was skeptical of the freebie faction stickers when I first pulled them out of the envelope. Compared to the shiny chrome bling I paid for, they seemed dull. But when I started using them, I fell in love. For smaller bots, especially with matte finish, I love them. I just stickered Warbo Computron with them, they are perfect. Not too ostentatious, thin, they look like they're factory applied.

Just got some replacement repros in the mail to replace some defective ones that I got during the sale. Guessing that Toyhax is finally getting their backlog sorted out.

Aside from insignias, I only use stickers on diaclone homages to get the toy details. They aren't all done here but I've since caught up on a couple more :) .

My favorite set is Exhaust by far, but that's Ocean and not Toyhax.

Does anyone know if the ocean's design labels for Exhaust are still available? I can't find them, but unfortunately, the words ocean design and exhaust are so common, it may just be that google is getting confused.

My god, Dai Stack is a big chap. I hadn't realised he was so much bigger than the MP.

I've said this in other threads, but the more Hasbro relies on cheap foil stickers over paint apps, the more business Reprolabels will be getting, at least from me. I've never used them until the past year in which there have been opportunities to give figures absolutely necessary detailing. I recently got Music Label Soundwave and immediately purchased the labels to make him G1 accurate. With that I got labels for Prime Smokescreen, whose toy deco is horribly off the mark.

With the free faction symbols that came, I replaced a host of stickers on the TR voyagers. I look forward to POTP Voyager and Leader stickers being made available. Can't wait to see how much Rodimus and Starscream are improved by them.

I've been into Reprolabels for quite some time. I like their symbols and rubsigns.
I'm hoping they finally do a label set for FT Sovereign.

Nice call. I love the stickers they produced for Magnus. I recall writing up a mini-review on the sticker set early last year (or was it the year before?) and I believe there are 150+ stickers for the set? And IMO, the chipped tooth sticker is the greatest part of the whole set.

I didn't realize that so many Diaclone colored TF's had been released!

On a seprate note, has anyone here used the Vallego Game Color paints from the Toyhax site?

I've started a single bottle Vallejo Game Colour and it is alright, of course I've only started painting this year and only have a few bottles of Model Colour to compare. The different names just seem to be a branding thing far as I can tell if you've used the Model range, if not they have an eyedropper thing under the lid which I enjoy for handpainting but not sure that comes off, doesn't look like it but I haven't tried to force it. Dries to the touch pretty damn fast, at that point you can scrape it off with a toothpick or something if you are new enough to need to. Having coated it with the closest thing I can find to Krylon in Australia it has survived transformations and handling. Coats smooth enough in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they are doing, as my attempts to describe something of relevance probably shows.

Finally, I've just done detail painting (tail lights, red on Generations Brainstorm's wings, R2-D2's eye, those round bits on Evasion Prime's shoulders) so can't speak for major work.
