Just moved to the shithole of the USA. Raleigh, NC. I'm forever a NY'er. Queens was my playground as a kid, I spent my teens hanging out in NYC. Adulthood on Long Island. Parenthood brings me to Raleigh, it's more affordable, but god I HATE IT HERE. Not 1 decent comic shop and nothing fun to do :cry . North Carolina should be renamed the State of Loss of Education. They have statues in the parks dedicated to slavery. I shit you not. People believe a 3 hour drive to the shore is reasonable. No one knows what an italian bakery is or kosher deli. I'm so done, so done.

About 45 min. to an hour away from Houston, Texas and close to Baytown.

    Haha. This made me laugh.

    I'm a Bronx'er.

The people in NC seem so nice but yeah, I couldn't do it either. Spent a few years in FL and got to the point where I just had to GTFO. If you're from the tri-state area it's hard to adjust to somewhere else.

    I feel your pain.

Outskirts of Tokyo, Japan. I'll be here until at least 2024, provided Godzilla or the Big One (earthquake) don't get me first.

I'm a NY'er too (Brooklyn represent!). Having escaped from both Florida and Texas, I can't say the Southern U.S. is my favorite place either.

I'm extremely lucky that the bakeries in Tokyo are so very, very awesome here but the bagels aren't quite there yet. My wife and I have gone to NY a few times already and we love the ones from Bagel Boy. I might head back home next month for a visit and that'll be one of my stops for sure.

The other thing being pizza. A few spots here kinda get close to an authentic New York slice (Pizza Slice Tokyo in Shibuya being one of them) but our absolutely favorite place in NY is Joe's Pizza on Carmine Street. My mouth is watering just thinking about Joe's. :D

inside the basement of Beacon Academy, located in the kingdom of Vale. Unfortunately some bad neighbors moved in, so the locals don't get much to talk about anymore....

Funny, that you mentioned that, I lived in NJ and moved down to Tallahassee, FL, due to costs and finances and yeah, I feel your pain.
I buy a lot of things on online. You just can't get things around here.
Other parts of FL isn't so bad, but in Tallahassee near south GA its a different world.
I plan on moving from here, within 18 months, to Central or South FL.

I stayed by St. Petersburg for 2 weeks as a teen, near Clearwater Beach. Was the most fun I ever had in my life. I could live there forever. Dolphins jump in the water along the roads, the stores are great, traffic is not bad at all. I heard it's awful around Spring Break, but other than that seemed great.
