I like this set. But he really could have used a bigger head, or helmet enlarger.

 

I have their Computron set shipping right now but does anyone know how well their ankles hold up? With an Abominus set hinted at here I would be more than happy to cancel my PE pre-order as I hate their ball joint ankles.

Anyone getting this set not using the hands and feet?

 

TDW ankles work well enough, but the new PE feet are ratcheted instead of being ball-jointed like the older sets.

 

i have all 3 kits preorderd i got 2 Volcanicus 1 im am heavly custimising but 1 i wanted stock

 

i'm waiting for the Chinese KO of the newer PE feets.

The new TCW feet has tilt forward and side-to-side. Strong enough to hold a combiner figure. Tilt forward is ratcheted i think.

 

One would hope the KO PE feet won't break Sludge and Slug's ankle ports like the official ones.

It seems like I've heaRd late June which is... well now. Since I want this set badly, it will probably been pushed back. I thought that I wanted the perfect effect upgrade as it improves grimlocks proportions but I think this set offers so much more. I will probably upgrade the potp dinobots with this to keep displayed in combined mode. I'm hoping the ko voyager dibobots are released and I will keep them displayed as individual bots.

 

I'm going to get both TCW, and PE... I hope to combine what I see as the best parts of each. I like PE's crotch plate, and large translucent sword better, but I like TCW's hands, feet, combiner thighs, and chest better. I hope TCW's chest connections will be compatible with PE's Grimlock new dino feet... PE's Grimlock feet, and thighs are a welcome addition. We'll see.

 

exactly my plan and i also planing on using the feet of the pc-21 as a pair of gatling cannons for Volcanicus and using tcw-06 hands and feet . im also useing the pc-23 grimlocks parts

 

Hmm.. maybe use the gatlings as hip guns, depending on how things fit.

What kind of aggravates me about the dino combiner's we's seen is that they keep turning Slag around in arm mode... Why would you not take advantage of a head that is naturally designed as a battering ram as part of a fist? Also, given Slag's propensity for heat, and fire, why not make the fist that protrudes from the dino mouth glow red? I mean- hello - Volcanicus... He should have some kind of heat thing going on.

Sounds like a good plan.

Since I don't have either set in-hand at the moment, it is difficult to say how it could all fit together. Looking at your photo, it might be difficult to use TCW's combiner chest, and PE's Grimlock dino feet though. I like how the T-Rex hips are flared out on TCW's, and angled down for the sided of the combiner chest... So, I might not be able to use Grimlock's new dino feet in combined mode. Like many, I hate waiting to experiment (heh).
