The argument against that is that having the other 4 completely finalized makes it easier to dial in what is needed for Motormaster. How successfully that theory is carried out is a separate matter.

Since you asked, Predaking and Devastator are the only combiners that are actually on the most commonly used Scale Chart. Both are shown as the same height, though Predaking notably bulkier (or maybe wider, not sure what the right term is here). Bottom left corner.

I keep pointing out that Dalianjj said "Similar" size to MP-12 which is a vague word open to interpretation (my similar and your similar may not have the same limit) but most people seem to gloss over that.

As for that screenshot you mentioned, I took that shot thinking about the Stunticons in the line, the 4 limbs at Motormaster's shoulder, honestly had no intentions of Megatron and Soundwave despite them being there. I was surprised how tiny Rumble was in it though when I finally noticed him.

These look great, though I have several doubts. The scale bugs me - I'm no purist here, and I think its stupid to bicker on the topic. You like it - Great, buy it! You don't like it - Great, find something that suits you! Also, the FT combiners are supposed to scale with their Omega Supreme, which is another issue for me - its just to big for me. I've got limited space, and I'm not moving to make more place for toys.

And then there's the engineering issue. Regardless whether you consider the recent transformations as challenging and 'sophisticated' or as shoddy, it is true that there are who believe that there is room for improvement in the case of FT in this respect. So far we do not know how the gestalt mode will work, how it will be engineered and so on. Having teased one combiner in the past, working on another, I do think they would do themselves a favor if people knew better what to expect. Also, as many noticed, they have so much figures in the pipeline that I don't think this one will be available earlier than 2021. Maybe even later, though this is just my guess.

I'm going with XTB. All the above factor in this decision. There's also one more aspect: I think an individual figure will cost at least $90, though it would not surprise me if they were over 100 bucks a pop. Then Motormaster will likely be even more expensive, at least $175, though $200 is just as likely. In other terms, the entire set will cost over $500 at best. I just can't afford that (not in terms I have no money, but in terms of I'd rather spend it on other stuff or save it). In all honesty, I would have past on a Menasor in general if not XTB's decision to sell their figures cheaper.

But I know these will look great, and I'll be here looking at the progress. Can't wait till they show an image of Menasor!

Of course this being Fans Toys they may show actual designs in the next 5 minutes and that might be more likely than 4 years from now.

Echoing your thoughts here. I pretty much prefer to shell those $ to fill gaps in my collection, buy Utopia who is a surefire quality epic figure, or wait for FH Overlord over a 500 Menasor.

Tigerblade has it right. These shots are really strange. I believe not even the prototype bots are prototypes at all, but resin statues faking articulation with screws just to mess up things. They might have designed something but I dont believe that they are on the prototyping stage.

EDIT: Now that I really think about it if you look back at Rouge's early pics as well as what we have for Blurr and the Aerialbots and even Blitzwing we saw the grey prototype in bot mode but all of their alt mode pics were renders. Probably others as well but I can't picture their early pics right now.

Exact definitions of each step (like prototype) is used loosely by people online and can be used for different stages of production. I don't know the "correct" definitions either but personally call the grey resin ones prototypes then once they are made from actual plastic testshots, but have seen people call both types the opposite.

The grey prototypes like the bot mode pics are very fragile. I got a chance to see the grey prototypes of Generation Toy's IDW Optimus and Megatron but was warned to be gentle since they are easy to break. There is a reasonable chance they either did break these or had work they needed to do before risking breaking them and didn't want to transform them yet.

It is a dead giveaway when seeing Wildrider next to Sideswipe. Wildrider wheels are about 1.5x longer. What's people gonna do when the car mode is like DX9 size?

It started with their Springer "car mode" and his thin ass wheels, then went to Kup and the thinner then bicycle tires of Arcee. Hers is just pathetic and looks so stupid in alt mode. Looks like one of those soap box derby cars.

Does anyone for certain know which Ferrari Wildrider is based on? Tfwiki lists the 308 GTB but FT uses a 288 GTO cause they have the three slits on the rear of the car and the funky sideview mirrors.

Let's not beat around the bush: given FT's glacial pace, there is a considerable chance several board members will have passed away by the time this thing is ever complete.

There's going to be a lot of disappointment once actual alt mode comparison shots are made, because I'm seeing a lot of folks mistake "similar size" as same size in their comments.

Or spent their money on Lego Voltron

I guess it makes sense that FT would do Stunticons next to match to their Aerialbots, but for me, these bots are way too big and I would have like to have seen FT work on other characters.

No way these are $90, at the minimum I'm guessing $115.

I'm normally all over FT figures but in case I think their Stunticons are just too big, going to stick with XTB ones. Really wish FT would just complete some more of the things they announce, the list just keeps getting bigger and bigger, and now with 5 aerialbots, now 5 stunticons ... they should really focus on completing their movie toons, or headmasters, triple changers ... all of which aren't really being challenged atm. At least if you're going to do a combiner pick a different one. I feel that with the current lag in FT product releases (not reveals), collectors are going to go with other 3P makers because they are actually releasing things to collect.

FansToys, I love ya, these look great but please get some of your massive backlog out first. No one wants to wait 2-3 years or more for this stuff. You seem to be loosing focus, take a deep breath and get back on track. I'm rooting for you!

Like the height or not, it is clear FT and DX9 are going with the height most frequently depicted in the cartoon. I've seen a single screenshot so far that depicts them as being shorter than seeker-ish height, while the rest are drawn tall.

Whether or not this is released in a timely manner is another matter, but I'm certainly in for a larger bot set of Stunticons in my masterpiece collection. If DX9 releases first with good looking bots, combined mode, and the quality is there, I'll go that route.
