Finally a worthy base mode. That feature is so much overlooked...I am looking at you Powerbaser. If the final product is half as good as it looks so far I might even drop my quest for the G1 toy.

 

I have no need for base mode, but not bad...

 

Nice. They are putting a lot of effort into this thing.
A large Overlord needs a good basemode imo

 

With Carnifex, I was so out on this one based on the initial design. It was a fail to me. I have loved all of their figures and I have to hand it to them on this one for having the great vision to scrap that design and learn from each figure to give us this one. I never saw myself owning an MP Overlord in the first place and then I had to have Carnifex. Likewise for this figure between nailing the robot, alt modes, and now killing the base mode. Still like Carnifex base mode because it's there but contrived. This one is truly designed as part of the character and looks perfect.

 

The IDW face/slimmer proportions/lack of powermasters and the final nail to the cofin was turned me off from Carnifex.Its a great figure mind, it just didnt scratch that itch perfectly for me.

 

I am not usually IDW either but I got Spartan and Bludgeon and loved them and liked the GCreation Fuuma design for Sixshot. For Carnifex, I got the accessories pack with the powermasters and guns for the base and loved the proportions so it gave me everything but I just came to love this character and the original Fans Hobby design was boxy and bloated but this one fits more of the g1 flavor of the character and will look great against God Ginrai.

Damn, I love my Carnifex but that base mode is mighty tempting. I guess there's no reason I can't have two Overlords...

 

Dang! I was on the fence over Takara's Overlord, but this is just getting better and better! My Super Ginrai is Maketoy's - this would be totally out of scale but I'm beginning not to care - it just looks sooooo good!

 

Man FansHobby is quickly becoming the 3rd party company to watch out for.
I have no connection to Overlord, but will definitely be picking this guy up.

 

I would rather have the old design back!

 

I like FH. I like carnifex for my IDW shelf, Dbl Evil can sit with my Japan TFs. I will own him, I will call him mini me

 

Now the real question: Where is my little car/buggy?  

I kid ofc. I really hope they make him with articulated hands (though I doubt it   )

 

I just got through watching Masterforce and this is looking really good. Will def look nice with Power Baser.

 

Speaking of which, it will pair nicely (if ever) when XTB releases their Deathsaurus...

 

The single best thing about FansHobby is that they learn as they go along and implement new things. They have already shown articulated hands for their Nucleon Quest Convoy (black Powermaster Prime for anyone reading this who doesn't know) and announced they are offering those hands as an upgrade for Power Baser. Based on their history I would honestly be surprised if they did not implement them on Overlord. I don't know though.

 

That would be something to hope for. I really want to have this bot steal the show in my display.
