It's saying something that this new Prime actually has me excited for the truck mode, which iconic as it is has never been the most exciting vehicle.

part of me thinks they'll put it on just to show off that it disappears in robot mode, part of me thinks they'll save it for the + repaint.

 

I'm eager to see what Takara has cooked up also. I don't mind faux parts it it means less fiddly parts. I hate fiddly parts!

I'm all for sturdiness and fun transformation. Those "wow..." moments I had after transforming figures from MP Ironhide up until now. That Takara magic. Hope transformation is intuitive and smooth, I suspect most of us will be very surprised by it.

It’s that magic - the folding of Grapferno’s crane or ladder, Megs legs when transforming into gun mode, etc. - that 3Ps seldom match, and that’s why I really look forward to each new Takara MP mold. Glorious engineering.

Yes, it would be nice if TT used more durable paint or more diecast, but those are not major issues to me.

I have more 3P MPs than official MPs by now, in case anyone was wondering.

 

I'm gonna be "that guy" who wishes his truck mode was even MORE like the cartoon model. (Mostly with the headlights I guess. I like the big white squares vs the thin rectangles of the "real" truck) If only because we've never really gotten a cartoon truck in toy form for g1

I also was hoping that. Pity they go with alt mode accuracy even if not needed. I mean: what's the point to recreate a realistic alt mode just "partially"? We already had this with mp10, this could have been a chance to have a G1 animation truck homage...
But this sums with my "problems" with this v3. I am waiting for colored pics and in hand reviews and hoping to change my mind. Fact is: mp10 has problems...but it is an amazing toys! Transformation flows like butter, there are a small part of fake parts... Hasbro colors pops out... This v3 is superior technically but... I don't know. Hoping I am wrong. I already not enjoyed megatron, too fiddly...

 

Obviously not what you meant, but I had this stupid thing in 2001. I might have sold it though. It didn't do a lot for me. I still have all the figures though.

Yeah I think that's the SCF PVC truck. I think the truck may have only come out in the Japan and not through Heroes of Cybertron.
