Sure it's fair enough some people don't care for the aesthetic the line has evolved into. But the MP line has been more and more cartoon focused for near enough half the entire line by release number now! MP-22 Ultra Magnus was arguably the first step change in going 'full toon' with his deco and fake toon wheel swap. So it's somewhat confusing, and irritating for people who like it, that people still come into MP threads and harp on about stupid toon this and that.

Having opinions and criticisms of the figures is totally cool, but when you get guys like our friend @Rated X desperately trying to convince everyone that anything not to his taste must be in bad taste - it's a turd, waste of time, lazy, etc, etc ad nauseam - well, 1) it's never gonna work, so what's the point - he's never gonna convince anyone else they have bad taste, he'll never get that agreement and approval he's desperately seeking, as we've seen countless times, and 2) it speaks more of his own insecurity in his own tastes than anything else.

You would think by now people who hate the cartoon accurate MP aesthetic could just say their piece and move on, or better yet don't bother coming into the threads for things they arent interested in. Just like I don't go into threads for mainline figures just to repeatedly tell everyone I think they're cheap junk, lazy designs, not G1 accurate enough, a waste of plastic, blah blah, or just like how I haven't signed up on a Rolex forum just to say I hate expensive watches, they're a rip off, lazy boring designs, but I might pick up a KO...

I think we might see a bit of a stack of truck panels to be honest. I'd like to think they could at least get the shape and form fairly accurate to the model, but I think back perfection like Inferno might be a big ask given how much transforming this figure has going on. If I prepare myself for something like MP-36 hopefully I cant be disappointed.

And I’m on stage 7. You won’t believe the colors on this sucker. Some of you are going to love it! But they painted the arrows on the wrists yellow! That’s it, I quit. This figure is total garbage!

 

More like trying to keep the existing bar. Im still not seeing how MP-36 matches up with Prime 3.0. If you look at MP-36, it has plenty of lines and details going on. And other than the fake robot chest, theres not really much cheating going on. Theres not fake gun grips, or a fake barrel, its all real actual transformation. Prime 3.0 on the other hand is loaded with fake parts. Comparing a gun to a truck in any fashion (including aesthetic) is a fail in its own right. Not to mention that Primes G1 toy is closer to the cartoon model than Megatrons G1 toy will ever be to his cartoon model. So comparing MP-36 to Prime 3.0 is like comparing apples and oranges. MP-10 matches MP-36 way better all around.

 

At the beginning there were several on here that didnt agree with the 3.0 direction. Im just the only one that is willing to bring it to the table at this point. I just reply to my alerts. I have no clue what the others are talking about at this point.

MP-36 and OPV3 match in that the aim with both their bot modes was to recreate their character model/animation appearances.

OPV3's detailing is comparable to Megatron's. Sculpted details are taken straight from the character model and animation with a number of seams, joints, and a little back kibble creating "real" transformers detailing.

You forgot the fake hammers on the top of Megatron's shoulders, so two fake parts. OPV3 has fake windows, grill, and possibly gas tanks, so three tops. Unlike Megatron but like Sunstreaker, Optimus' truck and bot windows appear to be the same piece, they just flip over between modes. The same may be true of the grills and gas tanks, but we don't know yet.

I don't know what you're trying to achieve here, man. It's clear to everyone here you hate what little you've seen of this figure with an insane passion.

Heh, I think there would have been less negativity had Takara just left the MP line hanging and come up with something like "Anime Perfect". That sounds like a Japanese line, right?
