Never heard of it. I’m just confused since we haven’t had a toys r us for ever. Hearing this now doesn’t mean anything to me.

Again, they don’t exist to me. They aren’t in my area.

Toys R Us Canada was bought by another company and is sticking around for the foreseeable future.

Wow thats deep. Some if this rant is absolutely true. Some is a little far fetched obviously. But at the end of the day its all about getting in where you fit in. If landlords make so much money as you claim, maybe its time for you to invest in some real estate. At the very least you can rent out a room and make that $250 you need to set up at the convention, eh? If somebody tried to rent me a chair after I paid for a table, watch how quick ill find a small trash can and turn that s**t upside down to sit on.

TRU Canada is fine, it's profitable and isolated from the goings on of its US brethren.

US TRU was subject to corporate raiders and subject to a heavily leveraged loan buyout that basically killed its ability to make a profit (courtesy Mitt Romney's company). A good explanation is here -
(Yes, it's long video, but it's good).

Quite so. I visited my local TRU recently, and there was no obvious price changes - let alone reductions - taking place.
Was kinda hoping there'd be a little 'firesale' action happening by now...

Note: that's "up to" 30% off i.e. the discount on many [most?] items could be less than that
