It's already been confirmed that Bumblebee will be overwhelmed by 3 Decepticons in his solo movie. But is it a good thing to have too many villains? Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 2 proved that it's not a very good idea

Spider-Man Homecoming says otherwise. Just give the villains a level of importance.

And so do a number of other superhero movies like Batman Begins or some other MCU films.

Spiderman 3 and Amazing Spiderman 2 were less than stellar films in general. Plus you can't really count Spiderman 2 given Rhino was barely in it and Goblin kinda just showed up at the end. The main villain of ASM2 was Electro.

Yeah it's true. It's just a matter of character development

The "3 villains bad" rule only applies if they have different backgrounds and motivations. Too much time has to be spent to flesh them out. If they're all working for the same team and have the same goal it's no problem.

Are we forgetting literally every TF film before this has had more than 3 bad robots?

Yeah, but they also have so many autobots to balance them, so they won't feel overwhelming

    What @AutobotAvalanche said.

There are tons of movies with more than one antagonist, but they're all fighting for the same thing and are usually in different tiers of rank.

Let's take Avengers Infinity War as a recent example: Thanos, Corvus Glaive, Black Dwarf, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight. All villains, but there's no problem here. They have the same goal and the same motivation.

Now compare that to Amazing Spider-Man 2: Electro, Green Goblin, Rhino. Electro wants revenge on Spider-Man because he "lied" to him. Green Goblin also wants revenge on Spidey, but not for Electro's reasons. He's mad that Peter won't give him his blood. Rhino is just bad guy of the week doing bad guy stuff. Three villains, three motivations, one giant mess.

I think that was actually the idea. The fact that this little Volkswagen Beetle has to deal with not one, but three Decepticons, is supposed to give this story this underdog feeling. Bee goes against impossible odds but still prevails due to his heart and his cunning. At least, I hope that will be the case.

And like AutobotAvalanche said, characterisation won't be a trouble, either, since they are on the same team. In fact, the fact that there are only 3 Decepticons this time might even mean that they get even MORE characterisation than most Decepticons in the previous movies (Ah, Shockwave. We hardly knew ya. Literally).

Having 3 Decepticons isn't a big deal at all. If this were another film with 3 villains you would want each villain's backstory, why they turned bad, etc.....or else it seems rushed. With this film you already know what the Decepticons are about, no matter who it is. So nobody is in need of an explanation why each of these guys are bad and attacking Bumblebee or whoever else

Bumblebee briefly considers luring his three enemies to a forest.

For some odd reason, he gets cold tires and moves as far away from it as possible.

Is there anything else written about these Decepticons somewhere? This is important for judgment

Well, one is Barricade, Another one is Starscream, and the third is said to be a female con. So I assume she is the one that dies.

I'm so Confused right now, so the jet is now confirmed to be Starscream and i was told that the Jet would
    Die
    I was also told that
Barricade isn't in the Movie because the Blue Transformer dies aswell
From this it would suggest that
The female Con is the only surviving Con at the end

Maybe that's for teasing the audience only, and distract them?
