Can you tell if any of the other MP10 Matrix's will fit? I believe KO MP10 matrix can still be found on Ebay.
The only minor paint chipping that I've experienced is on the gas tanks which are (almost) not involved in transformation (I've transformed it a dozen times till now)
Awesome. I’ll probably be hitting this and my gold chromed KO MP-10 & MP-36 with a coat of a glossy lacquer top coat as added protection. I have a jar of Alclad2 Super gloss which should work well.
Show.Z have put up pre-orders and photo's for the MP-36 cell-shaded KO to match with MP-10 4th Party Masterpiece MP36CS Megatron MP36 Cell Shaded Bit of a pricehike over MP-10 (US$170 vs $130), but it looks like most accessories are included, which is nice. I especially like the look of the energy mace in opaque paint. May steal that for my stock IT KO. I can't see the battle damaged parts which is a major bummer and it looks ike the silencer and stand are unpainted? Biggest issue for me is that the paint seems even darker then they went with MP-10. As usual, the final precise paint apps are unconfirmed, but the initial shots of MP-10 where pretty much idenitical to what we finally got, they just had the exposure dialed way down. The dark streak across the face is a little off-putting. For now, it seems to be sufferimg from the urban camo effect pretty strongly. But I need thi to go with my MP-10, so... oh well.
Looks way too dark as you'd mentioned... a little grey would greatly help in popping out the details.
It almost looks like grey camo. Although to be fair, the 86 film went with some pretty bold shading too.
Just received my MP-10 from Show.Z It looks nice from what little I could see (picked it up during lunch hour at work so only time for a brief glance over.) I think the paint apps actually look really good. They definitely look like hand painted rather than machine tampo's or the usual factory paint apps. The paint is atually pretty thick. However I already noticed some chips on the matrix and a little on the gun. Running a brief eye over the figure looks like Prime at least is in in good shape. Could have really benefitted from some soft plastic or something protecting it from the pastic clamshell - bit like FansToy's do wth the chrome on their Dibots. Not sure I'll bother going back to Show.z on this. The gun is an easy fix with some black paint and I think can probably touch up the matrix as well by colour mixing up some paint for it. I'm absolutely going to clear coat this thing when I get it home - paint always chips off die-cast so easily, even with full production paint, and after market paint like this will probably be even more fragile. The matrix being die cast and round is probably really susceptible.Still, it'll be a great addition to the shelf, and I am totally gettng the MP-36 one as well.
See, that Megs looks like a very different cell shaded deco to the one that Show.Z is advertising. I think that’s the one that was in the tease a week or two ago. The shots on show.z store and Facebook are much darker and a lot busier. It’s hard to tell what we’ll get but I’d much prefer this one.
These are interesting. The effect is a bit more overwhelming that I think it needs to be...but still gets the point across. I saw a custom cell-shaded MP Grimlock at a show this past weekend...wish I would have gotten a pic...looked fantastic...
Yeah Apollyon is nice. He was my MP Meg’s for years till MP-36 came out. I just prefer the proportions on the official, especially the bell bottom trousers. And personally I think the official has a much better face (and a range of faces) My Apollyon is pretty tight, some looseness in the ankles but the worst is how the hips keep splaying apart when you move him. They peg in but don’t stay well. Also, that Apollyon has been modded so would no longer transform - missing the kibble on the inside of the calf. Not that you want to transform a custom painted job anyways. I do really like the paint job though. I like the cell shaded MP-10 on the shelf. He’s still too dark though. Kind of reminds me of the “dark” Superman from Superman 3.
yeah apollyon fits well with mp10 ..but when mp36 for me mp10 v3 fits well the propotion totally fits
Since they are made from the same company...I wonder why they left off the Decepticon insignia on Megatron but kept the Autobot insignia on Prime?
Another company is making a version too...looks a little more subtle on the CS. Hmm...choices...choices
I received my 4th party cell shaded MP-36 today if anyone is curious how these look together, it is very busy and I'm not sure it works for me - I said on twitter it reminds me of Arnie going into the jungle to hunt the Predator But I'm glad to have it. I do have the other cell shaded Megatron on pre-order and will compare them at some point.
Nice!!! He looks okay, but much too busy. I was a little bothered by Primes colour contrast - pink to red to brown but the Megs is even worse with white, grey and such a dark charcoal. It's just too harsh a transition. I think it would have benefitted from a much lighter colour than that dark charcoal for the third shade. The other thing that really irks me with this is the face and how they ran the cell shading across it. You're right, it totally looks like someone smearing camo paint across their face. The other IT version does a better job by using a lighter colour pallette overall and just keeping the face one shade. I heard this one's a repainted MagTen? Nout sure how you'd tell of course. The other version is apparently a painted IT Megatron. Where this one does a good job is the panel lining, especially on the helmet and face. It really makes the shape of the head stand out and add's a really nice touch. Personally I want the lighter IT paint job but with this ones panel-lining. But I'll be settling for just waiting for the IT version. They do both look cool though
I was on the verge of getting the cell shaded mp10, but will probably wait for a cell shaded mp OP v3 (assuming one is made). Hopefully won't regret passing on this.
