I've noticed this as well. I don't see the crime in exploiting something strange. and questioning it and opening that dialog to see if others see things that are odd.

yeah sure my wording may not be the best. But I was just wondering if other folks saw strange or mysterious discrepancies and such in a lot of these so called companies.  

I honestly enjoy these sorts of topics of discussion a lot.

I see no harm. plus people can learn a lot of things from them. Idk it's just good to be informed is all. it can really help in making good choices when wanting to purchase things too. because you can figure out if quality and price are fair or worth it when taking the plunge.  

But I guess some folks just enjoy being lemmings and don't care to be informed or learn something new or interesting. I've always been the sirt to question everything.

This is a very interesting thread.

 

Being okay with third party figures is a bit different from wanting companies to use their own actual names though. Knowing the brands is a good thing for us as customers, I want to know which third party companies make good quality figures to help my buying decisions. If I was buying a KO I'd want to know which KO companies make a good quality KO.

I don't think any of us are advantaged by encouraging companies to randomly pick names from any old where with each new release they do. I'm also not sure how wanting the name to be less confusing in any way makes the toy less likely to be released. There are many many names in this world to choose from, they don't have to pick one that's already used. We wouldn't be in a better place as consumers if every third party and KO maker just called themselves Hasbro or Takara.

Actually that's pretty much what happens now. Even 3P companies do this, hence the multiple brands from DX9, FansToys, KFC, etc. Essentially most companies will continue to use their exisiting name as long as things goes well for them and will drop it like a hot potato as soon as things go wrong (lookigng at you BadCube-x)
I mean does anyone really think we will ever see another toy under the name Omnigonix? Nope! But I can guarantee those guy's will release more products.

And products like Big Spring, Open and Play etc these guy's aren't new to the business. Every time someone moves to another company or get's together with a friend on a new project, we get a new company name. How many products and companies do we beleive Keith is involved with at some level or another?

As western fans on a US based messageboard, I suspect we have very little idea as to what's really going on behind the seens and who's actually calling the shots
