Starscream is neat and probably my favorite studio series figure to transform until I got Blackout. Just like all of the other figures in the line he's extremely detailed, poseable, and here's a neat photo of him in a few movie CGI poses. The price of these figures initially put me off but the level of details makes em worth it for sure.

Since I've already owned the DOTM deluxe version, this figure feels slightly less new to me (being an upscaled retool et al). But man..he's near perfect. Simple but effective, some nice additions to the chest, no tats...wider profile than the leader version (this won't beat it out as my favorite Starscream, but I feel this new SS version is actually more accurate!).

Must-own. Movie 1 Voyager Starscream was the first 'present day' TF toy I bought that got me to collecting and it's insane to see just how far we've come. Recommended!

Wow. This guy actually looks like Wei Jiang took the DOTM Deluxe, upscaled it, and gave it improved articulation and a better colour scheme.

I already have the DOTM Deluxe, and it has this problem whereby the jet's nosecone tends to sag due to the transformation engineering. Does the SS Voyager have this issue?

Not at all. The nose cone tucks under his crotch armor but the pressure keeping the nose in place is from the hinge allowing it to tilt, and not from his genital region plates.

No. The nosecone didn't tap in robot mode, but the crotch armor piece in robot mode stops the nosecone to move forward.

I might not have been clear in my initial comment - I meant that the jet's nosecone in jet mode tends to sag due to the hinge that allows it to fold down into his chest for robot mode, but the DOTM Deluxe doesn't have any pegs or engineering that hold the nosecone in place while in jet mode. I'm curious as to whether the SS fixes this.

Ohhh gotcha. Well the very tip of the nose cone doesn't fold at all for robot mode to work. So yes, SS fixes that!

He means the entire canopy and nose that folds down during transformation.

And no, it doesn't sag on the SS Voyager like the Deluxe. There's more parts that peg and line up tightly so there's no room for the droopage that plagued the DOTM figure.

That's what I meant, thank you. Nice to hear that that problem got fixed. I don't own many Transformers but the DOTM Deluxe was one of my faves. I had no plans on getting any of the SS figures other than Lockdown but I'm really tempted with SS Starscream now.

Thanks for the others for attempting to respond to my poorly phrased question anyway! It was hard to put that into words.

No worries. Do it, dude! If you only buy one SS toy with mild interest, Starscream is a good one ;)

If there's one SS figure to make an exception for, it's Starscream. :D

My poor baby boy has a loose lowest part of his chicken leg, just tightening the screw should help this right?

My 3rd entry into the how stupid easy Studio Series are to give a quick wash and brush.

So far I’ve finished SS, Megatron, Brawl and Ratchet. Rachet took quite a bit of actual painting after the wash, but well worth it.

Awesome figure. Solid, chunky, and more accessible than the leader mold. The 2007 movie deco’s refreshing too — the jet mode looks fantastic.

Is his codpiece supposed to tab or snap into place or its just friction? mine seems a bit loose so his zipper comes undone. Might have to apply some clear acrylic to tighten it up if that's the case.

I think it's just friction. Mine actually did start to loosen up over time to the point where his crotch can be knocked free with a little force.

...I know there are a lot of potential jokes in this post but I am too tired to think of any.
