I'm glad I didn't hesitate then. I just saw the words "Mezco Exclusive" and bought. Lucky thing I had some money sitting on my prepaid card. That's not always the case.
Why does mezco do this? I like their stuff but they're kinda building up a lot of Ill will with me. Seriously... Why make highly sought after characters an almost impossible to get variant? Wouldn't they make more money with a standard release??? If you just want to make a cool limited exclusive... How about something like a battle ravaged wolverine with shredded costume? How about Clark Kent? Bruce Wayne? Peter Parker? Battle damaged batman beyond?? Why must they take characters that they -have- to know everyone will want and make them all but Impossible to get at a reasonable price?? So you do all black ascending knight batman Blue tiger stripe wolverine And batman beyond But only as show/site exclusives?!?!?? Damn mez... that's so backwards. Yeah you can be on their website and hope that you're in time...but I buy this overpriced stuff to relax and have fun for a while...not to worry weather i "made it in time" It sucks when it gets stressful
It does. It's stuff like this that makes me stay away from lines like these. It'd just not worth the aggravation.
I've bitched about Mezco's business since I first experienced it with that "classic" Cap release. After that, I vowed never to order anything from their website again. Paying deposits and crazy shipping prices are not my thing. Plus, their design choices can be beyond irritating. Still, when they are on, they are on and they started with the best figure I could imagine (TDKR Batman), which got me hooked. Right now, I'm just looking forward to Strange, Gladiator Hulk and Darkseid. I might have some others ordered but those are the main ones I really want.
No bro. Thought I had until the evening. What gets me is that you know half of those purchases were scalpers who will ask $250 when they get it. Bums. I'm just guessing but I think licensing restrictions were why it was a store exclusive. It's the only logical explanation.
Sorry to hear that How did you think you had an order but didn’t? You mean you placed an order but never received a confirmation email? How would you know? Just curious because I didn’t receive my confirmation email for a few hours after I placed the order. Usually they are instant.
I actually was able to order one of these. I happened to check the Toyark report about it before it sold out. I'm honestly not thrilled with the headsculpts. They seem overdone. However, I thought the rest of the figure looked good. Just need to find a good 'Terry' substitute head. The unmasked AK Batman seems like it would be a nice option, but then I'd have to buy that figure to get it. Hmmmmm...
He thought preorders would still be open when he got home. I'm surprised it sold out at all, let alone that fast. I don't know that I've even seen a One:12 figure for sale at a toy show either. Who would even think to scalp an $85 figure in a market that wrings its hands over $20 Marvel Legends? Crazy people, that's who.
I missed that part of their message. Thanks. I had the feeling it was going to go quick. Mainly because I was looking forward to this figure and once I saw it was a Mezco exclusive I had to put my order in immediately. I saw that Mezco exclusive purple suit cat woman sell out fast and I couldn’t believe it because it’s a redeco and figured that would be a tough sell. But every Batman exclusive has been the ones commanding the high resale value. People love their Batman I guess... I still don’t understand why their spidey figure isn’t more popular. He’s the most famous marvel character, and I find this version to be the best I’ve seen in this scale. Yet everyone looses their shit over the gruff Wolverine I would have liked getting the Tiger stripe version but these figures weren’t on my radar at all. I still only have the one. But many on preorder. But that’s the case with this company.
Yeah, what Killian said. Thought I had time. Oh well, maybe I'll still get a chance. I have 2 of those heads and only need 1. If you want it, it's yours. You find a lot (probably all) on eBay. I know I've overpaid on there for them. For some reason it's easier to online than if you were standing in a store with it in your hands. Internet is dangerous that way, haha.
You can also use credit cards at just about every online outlet in existence. On the other hand most toy shows I've been to are either cash only at the tables or the vendors want you to pay the CC processing fees. It's a hell of a lot easier to pay for big purchases on a credit card and pay them later than it is to drop $80 plus immediately in cash on the same thing.
You pay the CC fees online too. Where people did a double take with me is that Square adds sales tax. I used to work for Revenue so you better believe I collected tax where a traceable transaction was involved. Although I might do one CC sale per show these days. People must leave their cards at home as a self defense mechanism. Smart move
Yes. It's no different from upping your prices 15% to cover eBay fees. If you can only take EFTs, because it's over the Internet, you build the 3% in.
Yeah, the Mezco market is pretty confusing to me. I haven't checked lately but it seems like that "classic" Cap exclusive I was duped into overpaying for was around for a long time and available from other shops at discount. It isn't great but even with the bad design choices for the boots and gloves, it's still the best overall Cap I have in my collection. Then you have the Punisher that I didn't completely like any version of and because of that, stalled on ordering and now most of them are ridiculously expensive. Anyways, I like the line overall but they could make a lot of improvements to make it even better and I'm only ordering the ones I really, really want...kinda (impulse buys happen).
They were dumb and used Batman sales for Cap, then got scared when no one touched Cap and I reckon played it safe with Punisher. They have no clue what's popular...
