They did during the waspinator skids wave a few years back.

 

If they're going to put Wave 2 back out in the wild, change up the assortments to help people get everything.

Ripper seems to be pegwarming, so do a W3 Revision with Jazz pulled in favor of Moonracer.

Solves that problem. Then toss out the current Wave 4 and release one with Nova Star, Blackwing, Snarl and Sludge.

For Voyagers, put Wave 2 back out there. Then do either Hungurr or Elita in with Inferno in a revised W3.

For leaders? Unicronus and Primal in ancase together. That's the new Wave 3.

 

Yeah, this was my reaction to this announcement as well. Reads more like corporate PR spin, rather than something that’s actually possible to implement on retail shelves.

 

I don't know it just seems like Hasbro is waiting till it's customers are angry and fed up instead of doing the simple thing, selling current assortments on HTS

 

When it came to the dinobots, I wanted 2 sets, sealed and loose. Got all of them but that damn snarl. Been all over looking for a 2nd. Have had one at bbts on preorder for months now.

 

Seems like there is plenty of Wave 2 sitting overpriced on amazon...

I kind of figured ... the fact BBTS has a preorder for the wave 2 voyagers is a good sign.

Hasbro Toy Shop hardly carries anything.

 

Went to my local Walmart today and they had some toy cases waiting to be put on shelves. They were going to put alt least 2 Voyager cases from what I saw. I snapped a pic and did a little search and it seems it's more Grimlocks and Starscreams getting ready to warm those shelves.    

Anyway, can someone confirm me this or if by some miracle it's Hun Gurrr/Elita 1 or Inferno.

 

I saw the wave 2 deluxes exactly once at either the Lakeline or Cedar Park Target maybe a couple months ago. I actually passed b/c they were already in my BBTS Pol, along with the wave 2 Prime Masters, which I've never seen in the wild. I found Elita-1 for the first time, on clearance, at the Anderson Lane WM about a month ago. And weekend before last, I found both wave 2 voyagers at the 290/Mopac Target; first time I've seen Hun-gurrr. Boxes were beat up, but wasn't about to pass him up. The WM across Mopac from that Target had 3 Infernos (found 4) left as of last Thursday. The wave 2 legends are the only ones I've seen consistently. I saw Leader Optimus pretty regularly, Rodimus less so, but I specifically held off on him so I could just order the Wave 3 Leader case from BBTS. I've got wave 3 everything and Takara Novastar on preorder from BBTS, because fuck this. Distribution is a complete shitshow, even compared to CW and TR, which had their own issues in latter waves. I still saw every wave for those lines, or at least remnants, at some point, but had preordered pretty much everything from BBTS or snagged Leaders on clearance on Amazon.

 

In other words, these are going to clog the shelves and you can forget about wave 3 until christmas.

Legends is admittedly a great line , but the brand unification recently has caused quite an uproar and I thought it would be smart to bring up since it's one of the two big elephants in the room about POTP. I'd love premium-painted collector versions of these molds as much as the next guy but the Takara VS Hasbro debate will always rage on

 

I went into my local Walmart today, and they had stocked at least four cases of Wave 1 voyagers. 4 Starscreams, 4 Grimlocks!!!

Holy sweet god! I’ve never seen a Transformers section so huge in the 20 years of my life!

 

This guy knows what he's talking about. BAM.

 

Theory 1:
Could the overrage of wave 1 be due to ToysRUs closing down and either Hasbro and/or ToysRUs sold those figures to Target/Walmart? Target/Walmart now want to to sell their surplus of Wave 1 before they release the rest of their wave 2 stock?

Theory 2 :
Preorders for wave 1 was decent but preorders for wave 2 was not, as the prices started to rise on BBTS/TFsource Etc... so Hasbro intentionally made a shortage of wave 2 for 3 reasons:
1.) Hasbro did not think they would sell as well (indicated by preorders).
2.) To create more hype.
3.) To guarantee that wave 3 would have more preorders from BBTS TFSource etc... (due to the fear of a shortage of upcoming waves).
4.) It is Hasbro’s way of slowly killing the line

Theory 3:
Hasbro wanted to focus on the Studio Series so much that they oversold the hype to Target/Walmart which in turn made Target/Walmart focus their attention to Studio Series and pull away from Power of the Primes.

Theory 4:
Hasbro just made a mistake.

Theory 5:
Target, Walmart and Amazon direct made a mistake.

Theory 6:
There is a true shortage of Wave 2... creating buzz and HTF similar to the MAGA /nonMAGA, Misfire, Slugslinger etc for years to come. Creating again true rarities/errors/collectibles.



These are all just possible theories although one of these is sure to be correct.

Which ever theory you choose to believe Hasbro wins as they have us talking about it and we are sure to buy them if/when they are “re-released”. Smart move Hasbro...
 

Does anyone know the numbers of each figure totally produced? For any of Hasbros releases?
Are we talking 5,000 10,000 25,000 of each figure or am I way off.
Any place we can find this info?
