A screen accurate matrix... that is the wrong colour.

 

I like his look. Going to get him when available

 

I'd like to see how he interacts with the mini-Goriras from Perfect Effect (those have a bunch of 5mm pegs right?)

 

Never mind the matrix, what about the cab it's sitting in - grey not orange!

 

Optimal Optimus was never a matrix bearer correct?

If not, then there is no "screen accurate" matrix for him and it can be any color really.

 

It's close enough. We'd only be moaning if it was all flat grey in colour.

The G1 matrix was kind of featured in the show (it was supposed to be G1 Optimus Prime's spark, but the BW animators used the '86 movie as a reference and mistook the matrix for a spark):



The matrix with PoTP Optimal Optimus is designed directly from this - the first time we've ever had this sculpt of the matrix. Or the first ever G1 Prime spark container in toy form....whichever you prefer it to be.

 

The original DOES have... I guess it's called BPS. The main front wheel does start to chip after a time. Sort of like TM Megatron.

Right, he never actually carried the matrix. He only carried Primes spark for like 10 minutes.

So not only is it super easy to pop the pin and separate the smaller Primal, he still tabs on securely anywhere he normally would in all modes.

this toy raises some interesting questions about sentience/sapience. is primal just a robot monkey who combines with his accessory for robot mode? is he the small robot, and his alt mode is dedicated to just carrying around his supersuit?

Yep!

 

But without primal?

 

Oh, yeah, you actually need Primal for the jet mode. His connections are the only thing holding the cockpit assembly on.

How does Primal when he's not in Optimal Optimus mode look next to his BW10th Deluxe anniversary/TF United toy and next to BW10th Deluxe Anniversary Megatron/TF United Beast Megatron to anyone who has all three of the figures I've mentioned? Just curious.

 

Thanks that was what i fear it doesnt is worth taking out primal for me what really hurts this figure in addition of the gimmick is the hollow arms, if the legends line have continue most probably we have get those arms cover, green eyes, i hope on the future get a rettool without the gimmick and the 4 mode
