No, the trailer is definitely new. Even with the low detail pictures, there's some obvious slots and mold gaps that are very different between both trailers.

It really puzzles me when some board members always assume that new toy is only the newly designed robot and not adding the new trailer is beyond me. Maybe they are in denial about the price point? Or they always think Takara is fleecing and ripping them off?! Sigh. Whatever. I will sit back and enjoy my new Ver 3. Optimus, please and thank you.

lol. What I meant was why do some members always assumes that Takaratomy will stinge on new engineering and parts like the Ver 3.0 Prime trailer and rehas the old one?!

Woah cool how did u pull that off? What release date did thry say for Prime?

That would be cool, but I don't think that's this month. I would guess August or so well get some prototype image or god help us, a CGI image instead < "ugh!"

Btw where the hell is MPM-6 IRONHIDE I paid for Barricade at The Chosen Prime in February waiting to ship him for free with Ironhide. But MPM-5 Barricade is just been sitting there. Hopefully they don't have a holding limit. Maybe I should contact them?

Killing a good idea? That's blasphemy!! :)  I never know how to make a pic fit in the avatar section. And I been here, technically 13 years. I had this perfect pic too I tried using recently. Trying again after 2 years of not trying to make one, thinking it be easier due to technology & programing becoming easier and easier. But no, still stuck not having the 1st clue :p

What’s Hasbro pulse? I’d rather them not reveal things so early. The length of time from first announcement of a new MP and MPM to release has been getting longer and longer... Decreases my excitement for upcoming figures

Hey I'm all for MP-1 (it's actually not "-01" if you look at the box) ;)  it's actually my favorite toy out of more toys then you'd believe I have. Probably more toys then anyone here since it's been over 20 years & I don't sell them. That said, mostly liked MP-1 because it's the best homage TO 1984 Optimus Prime. Now that we have this, it's clearly a much more accurate version. And keep in mind it'll look much better in high definition and posed by creative bodies.

How did they mess up MP-10G/Golden Lagoon Optimus Prime? If your reffering to the gold plastic, I think people are forgetting that the Golden Lagoon Transformers were 2 tone gold/yellow. This is a great way to create that look.

Also how can be an Optimus Prime collector and not want the 1984 Optimus Prime? I'm not saying it's something you have to like, I'm just curious why you wouldn't want that version? ;)

Its the same site that announced MPM Barricade last year.

Exactly, It's suppose to come out this year because someone said that there's more MPMs this year than last year, Hastak is trippin real hard o_O o_O o_O .

It does coincide with MP36 needing a Prime on par with it too. I'd rather see that Prime in 2019 than later.

Agreed. Question? Why the heck don't I know which figure your talking about? Did Takara actually release a Diaclone MP-10? You mean midnight blue, right? With like darker blue accents? I know nothing of this release.

Also "modified"? As in how? :)  Thanks

What an asshole thing to say. First off I highly doubt most of us, at least the ones of us that are good looking and run shop or work hard and or have a family, are "embarrassed" to be toy collectors. And yea I know you worded it like YOU were embarrassed for collectors arguing/complaining about toys, but that just shows your not a confident collector in your own skin. I been collecting (as a grown man) a long time. Longer then the Internet by a few years, & I didn't even get on the net until 2006 1st time (that's 10 years after I started). Plus grew up around NOBODY ELSE that collected toys. Still I never once was embarrassed and still managed to organize a 45 deep, crew/gang that ran shop all across the city and had more girls in my life then someone that would hide their love of toys, and act and feel like they are children because of it. Nope I hsve been proud Transformer collector for well over 20 years and I'm 40 now.

And I can see this lasting til in 65- 70 years old. YES kids are not into toys like they used to be, but that doesn't mean adults shouldn't be by "what's correct standards".

Well they ABSOLUTELY NEED TO make at least ONE of the cartoon version! The version that we have NO toys of, officially, to this day. Only DX9 Legends Class is remotely close. NO OTHER toys of the actual OPTIMUS PRIME I grew up with!! MP-1 is the closest thing and even he has passed his date and the likeness is still off.

    That's why ;)

If by "two-tone" you mean the cell-shading/reflection effect, that's very different to having huge slabs of the figure in a weird brown plastic and the rest in gleaming gold chrome. The animation was clearly using the reflection shading to indicate they were gleaming gold ALL OVER, not a mish mash of different colours and textures.
The way Takara has done it does nothing to homage the Golden Lagoon toon images in any way. Sure it probably makes transformation easier, but at the cost of any kind of true "electrum" effect.
The only gold toys I can track down (apart from pervious fully chromed MP lucky draw figures) are a 2003 e-hobby exclusive Jazz - (completely gold chromed apart from the wheels) and a whole range of lucky dip/collectors edition toys from multiple lines, which again have all been fully chromed.

Cost of doing a fully Gold chrome figure is a major factor, Jazz is a small Deluxe Class figure, hence Takara still can still afford to do a fully Gold chrome Jazz but MP10 is a big Leader Class figure and a lot of transforming parts involved, hence it is inevitable that Takara can do only partial Gold chrome to the figure blended with yellowish kind of plastic, though me too would like to see MP10G in full Gold chrome but oh well, cheers

...yes, i refer to the darker takara release as opposed to the lighter hasbro colors: i've modified mine with the shadow fisher stacks, arms, and axe, illuminated eyes and matrix, and KFC blaster, but i believe nonnef has also offered toy-style yellow eyes which would go wonderfully with the new megatron...

Sorry, guess I’m still a little sour about MP-36.

Obviously it's the reflection lol. I remember the episode very well. But it still gives that effect. It has the 2 colors. Not that it wouldn't look good in all chrome too, and in the light give that same effect, but there is probably a bunch of reasons they used gold plastic and gold chrome. The fact they kept the costs down has alot to do with it I'm sure. Also the price of chrome could be rising for all we know, like everything else. ;)

There's probably only two reasons. 1) to avoid chrome chipping or scraping.
    2) to save costs. It's not that the price of chrome is rising - that shits super cheap, it's that its another finish and process that Takara has to apply, so the less of that they can get away with using, the less the figure costs them.
They may also want to keep the "all-gold" effect for Lucky Dip exclusive figures, but that's a pretty shitty reason too.
End of the day, the Takara effort, in my opinion, is woefully inferior and just looks like ass.

Here's the KO version's I purchased from TaoBao:
Prime was US$75 vs TTMall MP-10G for $136
Megs was US$132 vs no option offered by Takara
Significantly cheaper price, substantially better appearance and both Prime and Megs are available. However, there's currently no option to purchase the other golden lagoon characters (that are out of scale, barely G1 accurate, and seem to have EVEN MORE brown plastic than Prime) so I guess that's one thing Takara has in it's favour?
But hey, if folks want to pay more for Takara's crappy brown plastic, they're free to do so. I know which one I prefer the look of.
