What I really don’t understand is why we can’t just have the movie verse be the playground of ALL designs. I mean if we take into account transformium. Technically, all designs are completely possible within the bayverse. Prime can literally look however he or the director wants. So can Megatron. It’s up to him! He’s a transformer. That honestly should be what the films should do. Incorporate all of the franchise. Like what they were starting to do with TLK. But just not failing as hardcore as transformers: the last cash grab did.

Here we go again... It's a simple critical observation in regards to design aesthetics. Nowhere is there an old vs new comparison, besides a counter example, which is also relatively recent. It has nothing to do with nostalgia. On the contrary, your response absolutely, evidently has, as you admit so yourself. So, please look in the mirror. The new generation, judging by this thread alone, seems unable to take criticism without constantly feeling the need to compare themselves to the old one. I do not understand why that is. It is my understanding that the video speaker's perspective is that of a cinephile, and possibly design student. Nowhere is G1 mentioned and it should go without saying that not everyone who criticizes the movies is a geewunner. Why couldn't it just be a cinephile? It's a far more common perspective, in my experience.

I do not doubt the truthfulness of your experience, but mine was the complete opposite.
You say "change" and "transformation", I say loss of consistent identity and solid vision. What's the difference?

I want well made, quality storytelling and fiction, in general, on all Transformers media. I don't really care about anything else. Hopefully Bumblebee delivers. I have no idea if it will. It could, I guess.

Transformium could never be an explanation for clashing aesthetics within the same movie. But, I guess, I agree on the regard that the movies should represent the franchise, including many different concepts, characters and stories from throughout its history. I hope that happens if and when they actually reboot.

Your trying to tell me a franchise called transformers can’t change. TRANSFORMERS. Did you even read a thing I said? I said it’s ok to like all parts of the franchise. Yet your upset that the “younger” generation likes the bay aesthetic. That’s basically it.
Pretty much every single forum you are you on you trash people with a different opinion then yours. I don’t understand why. What is the point of that. The last thing we need is another lecture about how bay designs are bad. HAVENT HEARD THAT FOR THE LAST 10 FREAKING YEARS We get it. You don’t like them. Get over it. They aren’t around anymore anyway. Like goodness. .
Thank God this website has a block option cause my list just keeps growing.

I did not say that. Stop putting words in my mouth please.

I am not upset at all. You seem to be.

I absolutely do not. I state and defend my opinion. What is the point of a discussion anyway?

You seem really really upset. I didn't even say if I like them I just made an observation. You can still like them. I have no magical power over that. And I can still like what I like and I am free to express my opinion. Get over it as well.

Um... Please don't take my word as fact.

EDIT: If you're still reading this.... Please take this as an apology if I was aggressive. I try to be as neutral as possible when a differing opinion is presented to me.

I have to agree. I'm sorry but they're not people, and nothing about the designs in AOE or TLK said Transformers.

I'm gonna miss the old designs in that I liked them, but I'm more ready for what's next. Just like when TF07 first came out, I'm ready for the next fresh take, and I'm loving this G1/Movie-blend so far.

You outright show why the designs needed to go - if people are complaining about them for ten solid years, then there isn't change going on, especially not in the right direction. You can't look at Galvatron and go "oh, that's a transformer" because WHERE THE HELL ARE HIS VEHICLE KIBBLE BITS?

Furthermore, the franchise has only been around for 30 years, meaning the movies are by far over one third of its entire lifespan. G1 itself did not last ten years. So stop acting like people deriding the movie designs are somehow disrespecting the fact the 'younger' generation grew up with them, because you people at least have had it longer in your lives than literally any other part of the fandom had with theirs growing up! You can not seriously make statements like "That honestly should be what the films should do. Incorporate all of the franchise" and then turn around and be hostile with other users because the fact the movies are explicitly the reason why that is not happening. Don't believe me? The last time we got a Bumblebee who didn't have headlights on the chest was Animated, and that was back in 2010. Every single Bumblebee after him has more or less been directly influenced by movie Bumblebee's appearance as well as being mute. It got to the point where you could not avoid the movies in any part of the franchise short of the Generations line...which if we're being honest isn't even true anymore given how Barricade is now a legacy character showing up alongside G1 mainstays with the Evergreen designs.

You can't "justify" taste. It's a matter of opinion.

I don't understand. Maybe it was the wrong word I used. Maybe "validate" would have been a better choice of word.

You can't validate someone's opinion either.

You can validate what is considered "normal" characteristics of a character archetype though.

I thought an example of validation of opinion would be if someone who shares your point of view and publically expresses it. It would make you go "Ha! See? I was right, he agrees!". That's a validation, I believe. But, whatever.

Also off-topic: Ron Swanson is my spirit animal!

Ron Swanson does not care that Ron Swanson is your spirit animal.

    End of quote.

With the exception of a few, but yeah the knights and ksi stuff was a risk.
And because of it, there may not produce anymore films after Bumblebee.

isn't this what "likes" are for? Like the ones you're getting for your amazingly detatched from reality comment. these people are validating your opinion at this very moment.

A "like" is vague in it's use. Especially when there are no other "emoticons" to go with it.

Generally it's used to agree with someone. But agreeing someone isn't validating an opinion. For example, in my opinion, I think grapedrank is good. I don't need any validation, because it's just good. To me.

Other people "like" such posts because they too like it. But it's not necessarily validation. Validity requires proof. I have no reasoning for proof, at least enough that would be considered as such.

    But sure, detached from reality.

Especially with Lockdown. Why would Lockdown, of all people, make his face look exactly like a human's???? It's just odd.

so you're one of those guys who uses semantics to argue useless points that derail posts?

    Noted!

Your long winded post is very akin to saying; "You say I should get a life. But, I am alive, and replying, therefore, I already do have a life. So you're wrong."

As for the definition of 'validation', since you enjoy using semantics to support flimsy arguments, here is one from Oxford:

All this being said, and back to the real issue at hand, why bother expressing an opinion to begin with, if it cant be argued or validated? Simply to fill the air?

Meanwhile, you need all this validation (and semantics) to somehow be right on an internet forum dedicated to transforming robots.

    Congratulations! You win!

As for the "issue at hand" and somehow needing validation, art and taste is subjective. Which was the original point. You can sit there all day and talk about what professionals think, or critics, etc. but they don't sway my opinion.

But mainly an opinion doesn't need to be validated because people such you yourself come along and say things like "your opinion is wrong, feel bad!" because you're vying so hard to be right that discussion just can't and won't happen.

Fortunately, there are methods to avoid people such as yourself. Welcome to my block list.
