I'm more worried how thin and straight the leg looks viewed directly front-on. I was hoping they were going to maintain that bell-bottom look of MP Megs and Sunstreaker.

Also the ab grill appears to angle upwards and be flush with the chest windows, rather than having the classic recessed look of the character model - I really hope that's mistransformed.

G-Shock is a Casio wristwatch brand. They're usually a few hundred bucks or so?

My displeasure to how the MP line has devolved is stronger than ever. That Prime looks lousy. As an Optimus collector it will find no place in my collection. And somehow they even found a way to mess up a concept like a golden lagoon deco.

Will this ridiculous cartoon accuracy fad ever die out? Can't we go back to greebled mechanical-looking MPs with credible proportions that aren't limited by desperately trying to imitante Sunbow designs to a brim? :/

    WTAF?!

    ------------------------------------------------

I'm surprised by the poor reception this figure is getting on here, though a third MP Optimus seems a bit overkill. I never got MP01 or MP10 though, so I might be inclined to get this. I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro do a simultaneous release like it has with the MPMs, especially as it's for the 35th anniversary.

    Yes, by Ernő Rubik.

    ...

I know I'm making the same joke twice, but I just like it too much, I'm sorry :)

Are you? Are you really? A toy comes without wrist swivel and the same people are ready grab the pitchforks and torches and chase hasbro/takara to the windmill on the hill.

MP-36 made so many demand a new Optimus that’s cartoon accurate to match and here he is and people are still complaining.

Fandom just becomes more and more toxic with the older grown adults who play with toys get.

I\'m definetly up for a more cartoon accurate MP Optimus Prime figure. But I really want to see the official HD photos soon before I make my final decison.

    Not impressed at all.

Would like to see the final product. I hope not to be in presence of another fiasco,  like MP-36.

"Toxic" fandom. Whatever dude. People like to bitch and gripe. It's why Al Gore invented the internet. I can't believe there are grown adults that let strangers' opinions on children's toys affect them so much they think it's "toxic" to their well being. I also remember someone posting he was quitting collecting TF toys cause these boards were so "negative." I don't understand that thinking at all.

We like what we like, we hate what we hate. Nobody's glowing review is ever going to make me like BW. They're all ugly as sin to me. Disgusting concept. And nobody here will ever convince me to stop buying the G1 characters I do like. But they're free to talk about it here all they want. Doesn't bother me. Obviously we all like some aspect of Transformers or we wouldn't be here at all.

Also, I don't know any children that play with Transformers or any other toys. All the kids I'm around seem to be interested in are their phones and tablets and youtube. So all that's really left are us "toxic" grown ups.

Am I looking at something completely different here? Looks completely fine to me.

Either way, I guess it doesn’t really matter as luckily fans now have the option between two versions of Prime in the same MP size category. :)

...i'm sure he'll come across much more impressive when photographed in detail to take full advantage of his improved range of articulation, but at a casual glance based on these images, i'm still pretty satisfied with my modified diaclone-color MP-10...

I'm curious to see how it transforms and the matrix chamber. I hope the gun stores on the back.
