a few more things....... i like to type in words how i would say it......even the pauses. i hate reboots that deter too far from the original version. the first time i fought the flood in halo gave me nightmares.... my first video game was megaman 6.... boba fett is my favorite bounty hunter ever. when smash bros. melee was a demo in circuit city, i played a guy that's been playing for weeks as bowser.he was undefeated........until i played him. i was pikachu, and i DEMOLISHED him. we had a laugh and left on good terms.
I love coldness. I have a fan on in my room almost all the time because I love the feeling of cool air. I wash my face and hair in cold water because I like the refreshing feeling that you get from low temperatures. You don't want it. I've had it for all of my adult life and it's miserable. The kind of depression where you can't find any joy in anything, and it's a struggle to talk to other people or even leave the house. My uncle had depression also, and I believe it killed him (or at least significantly contributed to his death). He lost complete faith in himself and everyone around him. If you have depression I hope you get medicated or talk to someone. Human feet gross me out. I wear socks all the time in the house. I take them off when I'm sleeping though to let my feet breathe.
That post was from several months ago, from when I thought I was getting it simply because school and online drama were getting at me pretty bad at the time. I'm honestly pretty embarrassed of myself to post such an assumption. I'm not mentally ill, only neurodivergent. I'll go back to that original post and delete it.
Whenever I enter a store/building I scan for all exits and create contingency plans in my head. I also sit where I have a line of sight of the entrance(s) whenever possible.
I have a very difficult time identifying people unless I have interacted with them often and recently. This doesn't just apply to normal people; I have mistook celebrities for each other, along with not recognizing them even if I have seen them before.
-I like the house to be kept at around 65° and all the rooms I spend time in have fans that don't get turned off. -I'm always listening even when I'm not actually listening to someone talking to me. Someone can literally be talking to me and I can be point blank doing something else to the point of ignoring them entirely. If they ask me to repeat what they said I can stop, play it back in my head and repeat what was said verbatim. Pisses my wife off. -My favorite way to relax is to be alone in a dark room and just veg.
sometimes my hair changes color.....its usually dirty blonde, but it sometimes turns light blonde, black, grey, bright orange, white and a mix of all of them.....my teachers thought i dyed my hair regularly....if my beard grows too long, it take two days to cut it down. one to trim it to the point that it won't hurt the area closer to my face, and one to finish it. i also can't stand silence. i MUST have background noice of some kind or i lose it. my teachers always had a radio on low just because of me...... my teachers loved having me around. i was always nice, did all my work and even helped my fellow students with their work by leading them to the answer. i have to say, my early life was awesome!
That's not "weird" man, that called situational awareness and in this day and age, it's more than a good idea, it could save your life. Good on you for that. I too do this. I almost don't really have to consciously do it. I walk in a place, look around, mark things in the map of my head, resume purpose.
Yup, it's pretty much habit and done without conscious thought. It just seems so many today are so distracted and situationally unaware of the world around them, it may seem weird to them. At the end of the day we are our own first line of defense and are responsible for our own and our family's safety. One can't solely rely on law enforcement to keep us safe. I also find that when you are situationally aware, you end up seeing all sorts of cool stuff that you may have otherwise missed while your at it!
The big scar on my right elbow is from running through a mirror and a wall. I was into bodybuilding when I was younger. I wanted to cut and try for an amateur competition. So I was doing a lot of cardio. At the end of a workout, a friend and I went into our gym's boxing room. We raced each other, windsprints from wall to wall. We were neck and neck. I was too competitive. Took one more burst of speed as we neared the wall....went through the mirror elbow first and through the wall behind it. Much like a cartoon, the hole does generally look like a person (you can make out a head and general body shape - arms not visible in the hole's shape). 37 stitches on three layers. Night before I turned 18. Worst birthday ever.
I feel you there. Three days before my 18th birthday, I sliced my right calf open on a piece of sheet metal in an attic I was working in. Was an electrician doing new construction, and was still fairly green at the time. Thankfully one of the other guys working with me on the site was a former high school wrestler, because I was stuck in the attic, and had to somehow get down an 8 foot ladder with one leg. He had to carry me down and out into the van. Yeah, that was 26 stitches, and still bothers me occasionally to this day. But let's see. A weird fact about me is that I sneeze when I'm hungry. No idea why, just one sneeze, then I'm good.
I'm face blind Dislike sitting with my back facing into a room,even standing I'll find the nearest wall to park against. Teachers hated me for being waaay in the back. Have keloid scars. No it's not cancer, no it's not going to kill me, yes I know it's there. Left handed and proud My hair is down to the middle of my back. It's part of my culture so it's not getting cut. Kept nice? Trimmed? Yes to both but not cut short.
