Maybe I'm in the minority, but that trailer looked really boring to me.

Tension.... Alright then. If that's what you want out of the fandom.

Let me tell you one thing, why would you pay attention to those fanbases especially DC? DC has its own problems it needs to take care of.

    No need, they're irrelevant.
I'm talking about spinoff films for Movie characters WE want to see.

It's just a random example, i know they're not doing too hot with their extended universe but they're still doing way better than this fandom and marvel in other media's.

    Who's "WE?"

I mean we don't all want the same things. My wants and preferences in a Transformers movie are incompatible with the vast majority of G1, Bayverse, and other fans alike. Frankly, I'd much rather the Seeker not be Starscream just so another Decepticon can get some time to shine. The most enjoyable characters in the Bayverse for me were either famous characters with new twists to them or lesser used characters that most fans weren't clamoring for.

The general audience would trade 5 more second of butt scene for dinobots anytime.

We can do better if we can start by respecting and recognizing the variety of opinions people can hold, regardless of the quality of things we see.

We don't have to resort to being the fandom that drives actors away from Hollywood or social media. (i.e. Star Wars)

Truthfully, I don’t think Hasbro and Paramount were that far off from making a universe. Let’s not downplay the past five films and the remarkable amounts of money they made, regardless of how divided opinions are of them. You don’t make a ton of money by accident. I definitely think they swung the bat hard and missed, but still.

My point, maybe a Bumblebee solo movie IS them listening to fan/critic feedback. We’ll see come December.

That is some next level Shyamalanian twist right there.

Agree to disagree. The Transformers movies, while no classics, are way better representations of their franchise than DC's current movies are, imo.

I agree with you that in terms of cartoons, DC is doing better than Transformers, though.

Looks pretty good. Would've loved to see Barricade though.

I simply love the nondescript 'we' and the desperate attempts at explaining all the money the movies made as not a function of their popularity, even going a far as implying that money from outside the USA doesn't count. Makes for a rather amusing read.

I also love how the movie's future performance is explained. If it does well - it's obviously because it's more G1; if it bombs - it's obviously because it's not G1 enough. No other reasons allowed.

Hey, I heard that one guy over there didn't like Infinity War. That means the fans aren't getting what they want, right? Because one dude doesn't like the way things are going?

No comments about Travis Knight raping anyone's childhood, as of yet... Fandom's maturing or what?

Frankly, I doubt if the TF2007 crew even knew about a G1 Micromaster with the same name when they were making their Barricade. More likely they were thinking of police road obstacles, especially given how Bee's a muscle car and Barry's an interceptor in the movie.

Of all the opinions that people frequently toss out here, thinking the "general audience" has the same expectations as hardcore fans is perhaps the most bizarre.

    Exactly.

IMO, i'm not waiting for this film because of "oh the designs" or "OOHH the references", i'm waiting this film because the execution seems well done.

And let me tell you something

A lot of people will be disappointed by the jet we've seen

    IMO, they've nailed the faces.

Bee and that seeker-scream seem good enough, a more human-ish face would be hard to look at. We haven't learned the lesson with drift and crosshairs?. Those are ehhhh.

It's got nothing to do with G1. Michael Bay's movies suck primarily because they are bad. With bad script, bad plot, bad story, bad editing, bad direction and bad acting. The fact that he has distanced himself from G1 was just the cherry on the cake - which now seems like a good thing, identity wise.

What we see now with something that looks like G1 Starscream and a whole scene directly from the Marvel Comics is the DISTANCE that this movie is trying to take from Michael Bay, which can be interpreted as a good sign. Because maybe, if they're steering far from Michael Bay, perhaps they're going in the right direction.

Hopefully, in the future people will remember the Bayverse as the bad transformers movies with the ugly bots.

I'm sure, there is a better way to design G1 faces for a movie.
