Hello, I have a problem with some of my Transformers from the 2006 Classics line, specifically, the Starscream mold. I will post pictures and tell what is wrong underneath each pic. First is Classics Starscream. As you can see, his right wing is broken, and there is no point on where it should fit onto the main body, when transforming the toy to jet or robot. The next one is Classics Ramjet. Just like Starscream, a piece that flips up when Transforming him to robot is missing. Finally, we have Classics Skywarp. Here, his jet nosecone has broken off from where it should attach to the robot head. I would really like help on how to fix these old toys. Thank you.
There isn't a whole lot you can do for broken pieces except to either try gluing them back in place or do some major modifications to fix them. I mean like using pieces of Styrene to overlay broken pieces and screwing then into place. Still,if it's a broken tab or joint, you will just need to replace those parts from a donor bot.
For Starscream, the best option would be to find a screw that will fit snugly through the transformation link and drill into the wing at the point where the peg use to be. This will keep the transformation intact. For Ramjet, if that piece is completely missing the only option would be to rebuild the part from scratch using Styrene as seanb47 suggested and attach the same way as Starscream using a screw. Skywarp I really can't tell where\how it is broken, but I know that is a folding joint held with a set pin. If it is not broken too far up you might be able to glue it back together using a strong plastic glue. However, it is a stiff joint and might break again. For all of these I would also suggest looking for junkers on Ebay to buy cheap and replace the parts where you can. Good luck.
You could probaly find a junker KO Starscream to use for the wing donor...and...canopy hinge...then get a junker KO Ramjet for the missing piece for yours...
I had the same problem with my Skywarp. The stem connecting the nosecone to the back of his head snapped in half because the hinges on either end of said stem were too tight of a fit. Luckily, for me, that happened before I bought him, so he only cost $10. It's hard to make out in your photo, so I'll assume you still have all the parts for him. Anyway, what you'll want to do first is sort out the tight hinges. Remove the pins from both the nose cone and head. There's a tutorial thread linked here: Introductory: - anovassin's How to Remove Pin Tutorial Video Next, take an X-acto knife or roughly 220 grit sandpaper and carefully remove a very small amount of plastic off of both sides of both hinges. Take one shaving off, then test fit the hinge. You'll want a somewhat loose fit, but not a sloppy one. After that, you'll need to glue the stem back together. I'd recommend scoring the mating sides of the glue joint before gluing. Something to watch out for is keeping both pin holes as perfectly lined up with one another as possible. You could stick to sewing needles into a piece of foam to give you more control over hole alignment and holding the stem together. For glue, I'd use modelling cement or just plain old super glue. The scary part about fixing this is that the classics seeker mold has a tendency to fall backwards in robot mode. If this happens, that stem will probably break again, so be careful when posing him. For Starscream and Ramjet, it looks like you'll need replacement wings. I can't see a way to fix the peg on Starscream's wing without it just breaking off again. Best wishes man, I hope this all turns out for you.
I had 2 skywarps break the exact same place. I say buy 1 cheap seeker on ebay and then just paint the parts as needed. Youll probably spend less buying 1 complete figure rather than someone gauging you for each piece because they know you need it. I had stuff like this happen often enough I started making all kinds of stupid shit with the leftover parts.
Man, the Classics Seeker mold is over ten years old now, isn't it? Dang, I feel ancient. Anyway, yeah. Be on the look out for junkers you can paint up. A busted Starscream that has the hinge you need for Skywarp and a good wing shouldn't set you back too hard.
