You know people say too much G1 as if it’s a bad thing. I love the G1 influences because those G1 designs were the originals that started it all. I was a huge movie fan with the first three, but the designs started to bore me because I couldn’t connect with them. Movie hype would start during filming because one vehicle would be spotted and we’d think we knew who’d it be, but then we’d be let down by likeness and characterizations, most of us anyways.

When I look at Marvel and DC characters brought to life in film, I expect them to look close enough to their comic book counterparts and that’s what I expect out of all Transformers iterations. Not carbon copies, but heavily influenced by source material. Shapes, colors, faces, symbols, etc. These all can make you think of that one character you know and love.

This trailer for Bumblebee got not only me excited and interested, but my wife, my kids, my friends, and even my father-in-law. We’d all given up on the movies because of the junk but also because we could not CONNECT.

Thing about transformers is, well it’s in the name, it transforms and changes all the time.

Look at RID2001, with Optimus being a fire truck and Ultra Magnus only having the colour in common with his G1 self. The Unicron trilogy and all of its crazy designs, Hotshot being the new Bee and Ironhide being nothing more than a spoiled brat of an Autobot.

Sure visual cues are always good, it’s helps us identify certain characters (Prime with his Mouthplate, Megs with his Fusion cannon and Bucket head) but there are plenty of other iterations and continuity’s of Transformers where a character looks Completely different to how we know them. Armada Blurr/Sideswipe, Energon Ironhide and even TFP Soundwave to an extent. Everyone acts like the movies where the first to completely change the designs and personality’s of characters where in actual fact it’s being going on since fucking Beastwars.

Dont get me wrong, I love this new direction Travis is taking the movie-verse but comparing Marvel Superhero’s to Transformers is a bit much dude. Even Marvels heroes have gone through changes over the years.

I\'m so thrilled that they removed

Yeah, even by the 80's, the F-4 was already old and had seen years of service. Maybe this version of Starscream (or whoever this Seeker is) is from a flashback from the 60's or 70's where Bee recounts (via hologram or something) how he was fighting the Cons for decades on Earth already before he ended up with a VW Beetle alt mode. Just a possibility.

It's my hope that Starscream eventually scans and upgrades to an F-15 Strike Eagle vehicle mode somewhere along in the movie's story.

If this movie is Starscream vs Bee, and they actually make Starscream a credible threat that Bee doesn't beat with "super badass ninja warrior' God mode, I'll see this in theaters twice.

Please develop Starscream as a serious villain. I'm not expecting Kilmonger levels of villainy, but ... surprise me!

Starscream looks more like Armada than G1 to me, especially the head shape. Loving his look!

I like seeing more vehicle parts in the robot. Back to simple basics. Last couple of movies lost me.

The wheels on the VW robot are in the same place as they are with the 77 Camaro robot as well.

i mean yeah, that's accurate to the 07 design too. the 07 molds are just the only ones to get it right.

I’m reserving judgment in hopes that this movie comes out well. Also looking more at Bumbler’s streamlined design, I’m getting vibes from the Prime1 Studios Jaeger designs. Especially around the legs. Really vibes with the Optimus one.

I’m just cautious with the news that this supposed to be a half baked reboot and it doesn’t get hijacked by the producers and Paramount

Does anyone else notice Bumlebee's eyes are not illuminated in that shot? Like, he's unconscious and sinking, with Charlie trying to wake him up and feeling desperate?
