No offence, but I am still not into that type of Starscream. It's almost like how Barricade got a new look in the last knight from the 2007 movie.

Everyone keeps saying that, and I have never in all these years noticed any difference between the logos... apart from the colors, the movie ones being just steel grey.

Bumblebee looks better. He makes a strong case for why a fully armored, colorful Transformer stands out on-screen versus metal scrap skeletons with some vague car parts stuck to them.

But...he's still mute. I know, I know, it's a prequel to the Bay movies. But I was kind of hoping against hope they would undo one of the worst decisions of the Bayverse.

Starscream...looks better. At least when I saw him in the trailer, I identified him as such...which is a huge improvement over the insect gorilla from prior films. Still not 100% sold but we're heading in the right direction.

I just wish this was a 100% reboot instead of a prequel. I'd be much more excited if I knew Bumblebee could talk and Starscream would remain in that form.

Really nice blend of detailed Bay and more solid traditional mech designs. BB has an actual silhouette and form, which makes the eye track it easier. Very pleasing design-wise. I'm liking the tone of the trailer and if the movie matches, I'll be happy, shades of Iron Robot or not.

...yeah, this is probably gonna be the first TF movie since '07 that I'll pay to sit through in a theatre.

I guess the style change will somewhat appease the "EVERYTHING G1 ALL THE TIME" people on the boards (since, God forbid, everything hasn't focused on G1 all the time already...), but I guess it's got enough of the original trilogy overlay that it's not bad. Really hope that's not Starscream though. Bee at least takes some design cues from his original design, but SS looks nothing like him. Can't we get a different Seeker in the movies for a change? Thundercracker? Skywarp? Why remake the character again when you've got tons of others to choose from?

Nice touch with the quote overlay in the beginning, though.

Also, to those complaining about the human focus: Understand that A) CGI for realistic robots on screen is expensive as fuck, and B) Paramount wouldn't want to throw mad cash at this movie since it was originally meant to be a solo film and is now acting as a soft reboot. Would you pay a shit ton of money towards something that you weren't sure you'd get a return on? It was said from the beginning that this was going to be smaller scale than the Bay movies, so I don't know what you were expecting. And after TLK did so poorly, they're even more gun shy.

    I doubt if it's a coincidence.

This is G1 Marvel, but even the Bayhem movies were digging in for and reusing G1 cartoon plots and ideas. Actually, if you ditch the Bayverse robot designs and the general tone of the franchise, the Bayverse was leaning on the G1 pretty hard.

Now, whether it was executed in any way appealing to the G1 fans or not is a topic for a different conversation.

True, DOTM was basically just “Megatron’s master plan” mixed with “the ultimate doom”

Logic would dictate that Starscream's appearance would not change that drastically, so I'm guessing that's another character.

Um... am I the only one eager after watching this? Also, well done B, cause we were all tired of that stupid song.

Trailer actually got me looking forward to this.

Love Bee\'s new look. So much more solid-looking, smaller size, chunky in a good way, still keeping elements from the former design, like the face, while touching it up a bit. It\'s a great hybrid of G1 and Movieverse. He even has the original Autobot logo on his forehead and not the angry-looking version introduced in the past films.

Starscream also looks like a fantastic update. Same recognizable colors (Not all versions of Starscream use blue in thier color schemes), another great example of keeping the some of the movie asthetics while making the design closer to the original, even his transformation looks extremely similar to the toy\'s albeit way more in depth and detailed (Nose cone folds down for the chest, wings fold up and back, intakes on his shoulders, etc.)

From what we\'ve seen, it\'s definitely gonna be a very Iron Giant-esque story. And granted, it looks like it has way more emotion going into it compared to the previous films and their dire \"action all over the place\" trailers. I\'m optimistic so far. Even moreso if this is an indication on where the reboot will go.

Here's the difference, movie version on the left, G1 on the right.

Damn, I am glad I am not the only one who remembers that scene with Turbo being paralyzed in car mode and a kid finding and fixing him. :D  A friend and I were talking whether TFs ever had such a scene, but they always had the designs be at least more detailed than the toy - unlike Gobots which had them look and transform exactly like those. :)
Side by side I can see the differences, but never noticed otherwise. They just made the gaps between the parts of the emblem more close and narrow.

Honestly, if it means the fanboys will finally stop shouting that their childhoods “have been raped” all the time, then I’m all for the G1 stuff.

Looks like it'll at least recapture some of the charm from the 2007 movie.

This likes shows you the whole movie and all the interesting parts.

Makes it apparent that the original is kind of a crappy movie at that.

Expect a more g1 aesthetics shift to bumblebee and starscream in future movies.

Starscream or any other Seeker... What's the matter given the Bayverse's Screamer rather distinct lack or personality? :X

If it's a new Seeker design then you can bet that there will be a Starscream-colored toy of it anyway.
