Like the call backs to the first movie with the dialog from Simmons.

Based on a lot of the stuff in the trailer, it seems like it's a strong prequel to the 2007 movie, but they could always keep it open enough that it fits within the story line of a rebooted series. Some weird multiverse/Unicron stuff could happen in a reboot franchise that is closer to G1/IDW sort of stuff, that somehow links this movie in (especially if it is successful and gets good reviews), though unlikely.

Is this really Starscream? Not to be nitpicky, but there's nothing blue in the design. Ugh, curse those generic G1 designs! :p

Did anyone notice that Bumblebee's design takes a lot of cues from Animated Bumblebee? Especially when he drops that triangular mask?

I must admit, this movie wasn't on my radar at all.

But overall it doesn't look too bad. Very much in the vein of a sci-fi fairytale like The Iron Giant or E.T.

Yes! Bumblebee looks very toy-like, but personally I'm not disappointed in the new direction. A simplified design makes it easier to track Bumblebee in the scenes, the previous designs had a lot of gimmicks that sometimes were a little too distracting.

Also I really like the new POV! Small Bumblebee fits easily in the frames and we see him as a focus character in most of the action scenes. In previous instalments a lot of action scenes were filmed from human POV and Transformers very often got obscured or only partly visible in the scenes.

It's cool Bumblebee is saving the people in the falling helicopter. Or he's catching it to throw back at Starscream.

I love this! looks like a real film where not everything is a dynamic shot and they aren't scared to lock down the camera

HAHAHA that rickroll at the end!

Seriously though, it looks great!! Immediately from the first frame you can feel the difference in direction.

I do wonder if there's a deeper meaning behind the rick roll joke. Is that paramount saying sorry for the previous movies they were all joke here hopefully this one is better? Or am I reading too much into it?

So, after a disastrous abomination that TLK was, we're getting literal remake of first hour of TF2007.

That's another proof (after DCEU - JL and Star Wars - Solo) that those big movie studios doesn't know what to do with their properties. Flop I smell, mark my words.

oh, and BTW, their failed miserably with that TV aspect ratio. It looks cheap, and in 16:9 even cheaper. I usually skip movies that look that way in theaters, and I'll probably skip that one too.

Want some fries with all that salt?

I think it looks fine. The design is certainly a lot easier on the eyes.
