Lazerbond or 5 second fix. I used lazerbond, just a thin bead along either side of the cutout for the light cover, put the cover in, shine the uv light on it and done. Dries completely clear.

 

It's a bank holiday, busy and they're a small operation. I wouldn't be at all worried.

Hm. Looks like I ordered this. High hopes it doesn't suck. Looks great.

 

This was the deciding factor for me to not get this. Even at this price I just couldn't pull the trigger.

I know it's animation accurate, but I think I'll be leaving the symbols off the doors when I get mine. Or maybe put them on the doors, but not on the hood. I'll figure it out.

I can't stand when sigils are spammed willy nilly all over the place. You need one for each mode. That's it. Maybe you can get away with two, for the sake of symmetry. But that's pretty much it. Takara Legends Runamuck, with his six insignia visible in both modes is a special kind of ridiculous. It's like he can't go five seconds without forgetting what team he's playing for, so he brands all his body parts to remind him every time he looks around.

Heck, if it's plausible, I'll coordinate the insignia on my 3P Combiners so that only the main insignia on the big guy himself is visible, at least from the front.

 

I generally feel you need an insignia for each "main/common viewing angle". For bot mode, that's generally the front---that's the main way you'd be "interacting" with them. But for a car---you're just as likely to see from the sides, than from front/above----thus you need hood AND doors, to "cover most of the main angles". Similar for planes, having symbols on wings and nose/tailfins.

TF insignia are generally akin to military markings---so look at the military for examples----for people in uniform, pretty much everything's on the front---you don't see much from the back. But for vehicles---they try to "cover the main angles". (interestingly, warships are pretty universally "bare"---they literally fly the flag, but actual painted markings identifying whose ship it is are non-existent)

 

Maybe for animation purposes, especially for something like Transformers with so many barely differentiated characters potentially onscreen at once, having multiple symbol placements like that has a purpose.

On a 3D object though, it's an entirely different story and it just feels like overkill, especially with something as bold as the full-colour sigils.

I realized in three or four years when they finally release all five, I’ll end up keeping him in altmode on the back of menasor leg so I’ll def need one in alt mode. Otherwise I rarely add any outside of robot mode. I mean after all it’s robots in disguise. Spoken if watching the toy commercial from 1983..lol

That's the worry I've got about when I get him in hand. I figure whenever I ship my box from TCP I'm going to make sure and grab a can of testor's dullcote on hand ready to even that out a bit, because yeah, looks like wax.

I have to say, I was surprised when this worked. I picked up some 5 second fix at my local CVS today and it worked like a charm>, however, I did take a different approach:

• Instead of using a thin bead on each side, I took a single drop and spread it very thinly across the entire surface under the acrylic. This seemed like it would give me a better visual end result.

I have read reviews on these products and they have definitely been mixed to negative. This instance where you are using it under clear plastic and the UV light can get to the material seems like a perfect application and works as expected. I have seen a couple of videos online where the reviewer had the same problem. I would recommend this approach to everyone as I feel this will be a common problem with the figure.

They’ve just got pride in their team. It’s like someone at a sports game who’s wearing their team’s hat and jersey while drinking out of a cup and sitting in a seat, covered up with a blanket with their logo on all of the above. (I live in a college town)

I highly doubt it will happen. We'll have to see.

 

I would say slim as in no chance. Crackup is part of a team. Repainting him means having to at the very least reissuing the other guys. Probably not enough people willing to buy another Crackup to replace this one nor enough want to buy a whiter one as a stand alone. Only way I see a repaint is if XTB decides to release the whole team as a boxset down the line...which is slim.
