10/10 for Primal alone. It took me awhile to get past his introduction... I was distracted by *something*.
this episode kind of did explain it, he's not named after optimus, its likely the other way around since primal is the guardian of the requiem blaster. that status alone puts him at being older than most cybertronians except for the primes, of which there are 12 in current lore not 13. optimus prime is the 13th because he has the matrix of leadership (this is per hasbros press stuff from toyfair so it is the lore for power of the primes)
Finally made it to ep 4. Yeah.... It was nice to see Primal and Megs go at it. Then later Megs comes out with the precious gun and I'm like; "what, Megs beat Primal?" Then next you see Primal come out like it's no big deal. Did I fall asleep on something on this episode again? Again, the writing, the pacing, it's all super slow and super boring. It's like the writers just don't know how to fill up 11 minutes and so the take the easy rout; "let's just make this into one looooooong fight scene." We blew 33 minutes on a fight scene with preda king and Volcanus? But what can I expect, in the Titans Return it took an entire season to deal with Tripticon. We got ONE titan master and he didn't even turn into a "head" for another bot. An entire collection of titan/head masters and not one of them was used in the series. We went right back to the slow passed dragged out giant, giant robot death match...for an entire season. BORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not bad.... kind of slow, really enjoyed that electric guitar for Optimus Primal. That was a really good tribute to BW/BM. Still not liking his VA, I miss Garry Chalk.
My comment was not a question of mythology but figures that fit well with the toy gimmick. It would be easy to give star saber a matrix where the brain master would have gone. If you want to talk about story, Predaking didn’t have a matrix, but he has one now. I think star saber’s alt mode would Work just fine, especially in the Prime wars trilogy. Nobody other than windblade uses theirs anyway.
Actually Optimus Prime is one of the original 13 so Primal would be named after him just like Megatron took his name from Megatronus. That said no one really knows the identity of the Thirteenth Prime, even Optimus himself doesn't remember that he was one of the original 13. That is assuming they're going by the same story from aligned which does seem to be the case as Megatronus' flash backs were taken directly from the Covenant of Primus pretty much word for word. I can't imagine why they would change Optimus being the thirteenth when everything else is exactly the same. What I really want to know is why does he have fur when this version of Primal transforms into a hover car. I'm guessing that by the end of the series he's going to get the Matrix and then gain his beast mode based of the toy design. But he clearly isn't Optimal Optimus yet so why does he look so much like BW Primal instead of PotP Primal? The body shapes are really similar but there's no reason for this one to have fur, plus shouldn't the cab of his vehicle mode be hanging off his back?
