so I was at my local supermarket just 5 minutes ago. I was taking out empanada discs out of the freeezer and noticed I could write stuff on the glass door. So I began writing TRANSFORMERS IN IMAX. I finished writing it backwards (so it could appear normally when I closed the door). I was about to write September 21 backwards as well when I noticed a man standing 3 feet away looking in my direction. I closed the door and looked at him.

He then said (and this is not verbatim): "I could expect this from a child but from you this is immature." I looked into his eyes and his demeanor and it was so obvious that he was pissed off about something and wanted to take out his anger on the first person he saw.

So I replied: "You got a problem with that?"

He said: "Yeah I have a problem with that."

I replied much to my amusement. "Really. Can you elaborate."

He explained that it was his door (the freezer door) and then he erased what I wrote in an uncivilized manner.

So I said: "It's your door. Oh, I'm so sorry. Did I hurt your feelings?"

He reiterated that I was immature and then proceeded to return to his job. I hollered, "Man, go bother someone else."

I'm glad that I stood up for myself and didn't take sh*t from anyone criticizing me for liking Transformers at my age - 21.

I wouldn't call it immature, but the whole thing did seem like a huge waste of time and completely pointless.

I wouldn't call liking TFs immature. But the writing stuff on a fogged up window is a tad immature..

dude you are a better man than me.

If some stranger would insult me and then respond with YES I GOT A PROBLEM...shortly after that the situation would become very mature and well R rated.

Congrats on standing up for yourself and being mature enough not to knock him to next sunday.

from your story.. i don't see him mentioning transformers...

I think he was referring to the door..as that's all he talked about...

basically, he saw you putting "temporary graffiti" on his door...

Well, Ive been in your shoes, now I want you to try to wear his.

He's a guy who punches in every morning at the same spot, wearing the same uniform, and probly getting the same paycheck. Those freezer doors MAY be his lifeblood at that place, and he may take pride in making those doors spotless, as if one fingerprint really screws up his day.
So people can actually see if thier getting pepperoni or sausage pizza....

While I wouldn't say the finger-writing was immature, I don't think you did yourself any favours with your attitude toward the supermarket employee.

As others have pointed out, he wasn't chewing you out for liking Transformers. He was calling you immature for making something he's repsonsible for dirty.

Seriously dude. Buy your groceries and get on with your day.

I think he was more referring to the writing on the fridge door, rather than the reference to Transformers. If he works at the grocery, and was around that area, he probably has to maintain the freezers and clean up after the customers that come through (including those that write on the doors). I'm sure he has to wipe down the doors so often, and is subjected to so many slurs and swears from immature people, that it sours him a great deal to find someone doing it.

I know my experience working at a video store with dry-erase boards left me quite annoyed when I'd do advertisements and put much effort into them, only to have kids and adults come along and wipe it away because they're inconsiderate enough to not think of the person that has to go over and rewrite whatever they destroyed, lest the display look like shit. I know that when I caught people writing or wiping away, I was pretty rude with them too, and asked them if they'd mind not destroying my work.

Kids, I understand, because they're kids. You're an adult, though, and that's probably why he confronted you. Seems to me you are rather immature if you couldn't grasp his concern.

Yah, sorry, there's nothing in the OP that's mature at all.

I mean... why would you even write that on... well, anything other than a calendar?

Then your attitude when you were pulled up on it?

    Seriously.

    Yah.

ROFLMAO wow dude.. way to get yourself lynched, but i find it mildly ironic that people who collect and admittedly PLAY..POSE and create LIVES for transformers are sitting at their screens wagging their fingers for dude writing transformers on the frost of a door....ridiculous there are probably only a few members on this entire board who hasnt done something equal to or as ridiculous/immature as that in the last week. Pics from botcon come to mind, yup there looks like a group of extremely well refined individuals...no, no that looks like drunken revelry and good ol fashion childish fun to me....HAHAHAHA the net is full of hipocracy and askew conjecture....

To clarify im from Nova Scotia, and all we do is drink and party and act the fool, so i know all about immature...life is too short to worry about the tightly wound social reject having a freak attack because someone wrote on his beloved freezer door. You SHOULD have drawn a badly scrawled penis with blueballs beside it... THAT might actually rate on some scale of importance.

Yeah, 'cause being condescending about what someone else does for a living is mature. I've waited tables before--on my way to better things. Do you know for a fact this guy isn't the same? And what do you do for a living that puts you in a position to pass judgement so comfortably?
You know what the difference is? My toys don't cause anyone else any grief. They stay at my house. And I don't post self-righteous threads about how cool I am for playing with them.
    Word.

yeah u pretty much summed it up for me. I noticed a lot of fans criticizing me for writing on walls and acting as if they've never done anything similar to that. it's very sad and most of all pathetic.

Oh, I've done stuff like that. Absolutely, no doubt about it.

    When I was 13. Y'know, before I matured.

And while forums weren't really around back then, I still wouldn't have posted threads about it.
