For what it’s worth, I highly doubt HasTak has ever directly lost a sale due to “bad boxart”:lol

Hell, they could put in a plain brown box if it save me $5 or so, lol.

Yup, that's why I posted and asked my question about if the pieces of the primemaster might be able to seperate. I'm not going to ruin the chest for the sake of not having a little robot man in there.

The more I see of this toy the less I like it. I really wish someone at Hasbro would hire a competent person to pose the toys.

I stepped back into Transformers when I saw CW and now ending it at POTP! I say ending in the sense of wanting all of them but will now be cherry picking the future stuff coming out

They are expected to release same figures without any changes.

If anything, good boxart has probably lost few sells.

People look at the over the top artwork, get hyped, look at the toy, compare the bare plastic to the vivid art, lose interest... put it back on the shelf.

Cool! I love factions. I might have already commented there in the past. If not I will and if so I'll give some updates.

    ******************************************************************************************************

Also Note that I like PotP's combined mode of Predaking for the most part it's just that the Predacon's are one of my Top 5 fav factions. So seeing them individually like they are doesn't sit well with me.

So I do plan on eventually buying Titan Predaking. It just won't be for $150.00 like I did with Trypticon.

I don't know if that was what that guy was insinuating but I mean like the pics in this link.

eptoy-Transformers Generations Power of the Primes Voyager Class Grimlock & Starscram Set

You can see the combiner on the side but nowhere on the box does it actually advertise the combining feature other than the side box art. Its very bizzare. The Combiner Wars toys had the diagram of the combiner on the back showing which part that specific toy can turn into. Not so in PotP.

I can't remember all the various versions of 3P Predakings but for the most part, I found that the style of them didn't suit my preferences. I usually made these decisions after seeing each of the various combiners' full reveals and later reviews as they were released. I found in general terms that they were usually too busy or too stylized and usually too bulky. I've read that a lot of the various versions were unwieldy in combined form and were not overly poseable due to the limitations of their own bulk and gravity working against them. This last bit is only from what I've read, since I've never had an opportunity to handle them myself and I haven't been able to justify spending upwards of $500 (closer to $700 in my currency) to find out. Admittedly, there is an oversize knockoff of one of them and it's apparently around the same price as Hasbro's but I defer back to my original comment of not liking the styling.

Hasbro's Predaking has its own faults and they mostly lie in the alt modes. I find the bot modes simplistic but good overall, or at the very least acceptable in the case of the leg bots. It's really the combined mode and the engineering that went into it that I'm enjoying most for this version. It also looks like this figure (in combined mode) will be quite stable and robust. If Devestator is anything to go by, I'm quite certain Predaking will be similar in these terms. And finally the price is much more reasonable, compared to the original 3P releases at least.

Having said all of this, I also tend to prefer official releases over 3P. Not that I'm a white knight or whatever the kids like to label those who prefer official figures these days. I have some 3P figures. I am, admittedly, a sucker for Menasor and the Stunticons so I do have a couple of the 3P sets of this group, plus a handful or so of other 3P figures here and there. Having said that I tend to prefer weapon sets or small upgrade sets from 3Ps instead of full figures since I do prefer the official figures of a given character in most cases.

Hope that helps provide some perspective on my thoughts on this whole Official/3P debate and specifically Predaking.
