Thanks.  That was one of several theories me and the nice customer service person at Wal-Mart were tossing around. Ultimately part of why I asked here on the off chance anybody had a story for it. Turns out in my zeal I didn't notice it was missing it's collector card, but it probably just flopped out of the warped end of the box somewhere along the road. Small price to pay, as it continues to be in excellent shape, and seems to be the later production run with the asymmetrical towers even!  

Unfortunately it seems like PotP leaders have been cut from both Wal-Mart AND Target (of the 8 stores that I can check NONE of them carry those leaders anymore) Target is getting the new movie leaders at least, and still has shelf tags for the PotP guys up, but no new stock, and no incoming stock according to the handful of reps I've hassled.

Wal-Mart seems to have replaced all the leader tags for both lines with Studio Series deluxes sitting on their box bottom (instead of hanging for some reason, even though they have shelf pin hooks  ) and those giant MARS robots with the lights and sounds. Same planogram layout at every store in my area after they updated, so I doubt it's much different elsewhere.

It seems like the remaining stock got shuffled off either to clearance, or probably tier 2-3 retail later on this year, which is a shame cause I meant to pick up at least Rodimus Unicronus, but was waiting for one with better paint and stickers than any of the stock that did briefly appear here. C'est la vie I guess.

 

19 Trypticons in stock at Columbia Ollie's. Have at it. They also have plenty of the hot rod/Kup/Slugslinger/hardhead deluxes.

 

Anyone seen any Scourges around Ktown lately. Would like to have some Sweeps.

 

Ross in Columbia had one TLK Hot Rod...I took him. I didn't see him there a couple days ago when I checked.

It was a few weeks ago but I doubt they have moved off the shelf. The Walgreens closest to Turkey Creek had several of each wave 1 figure. Multiple Scourges. It's the one across the street from the home parlor store with the pool tables and home theater stuff.

The Ollies flier that came in today said Trypticon for 50, so it seems it might be in the area after all. Not looking for him due to that twist of fate, but if anybody sees Twin Twist or Misfire at the Ollies I'd love a heads up.

Ollies Knoxville report:

I went there tonight at 845. I didnt see any Tryps, so I grabbed a circular and asked at a register. The nice lady said "oh I think those all sold out today" and I felt that oh too familiar feeling of disappointment set in. Then, she turned to a co worker who said..."Oh...wait...we have ONE LEFT. I was going to get one but you can have it." He then said they had sold FORTY of them just today, with many people buying 3, then leaving to come back and buy more.

As you can imagine I was incredibly happy. What a super cool gesture on a day where pathetic scumbag scalpers took advantage of actual fans as usual.

 

Dang, that sucks about the stupid scalpers, but at least you got one.   Also, did you see any other TFs there as well?

 

They were still rocking TR wave 2, although they sold WAY more the last week than I expected. I don't know if they will get others or if that is just the only cases of TR that store was sent.

Personally I really wanted to see Misfire or Slugslinger. Oh well.

It's actually wave 2 revision 2 which is Krok, Twinferno, Quake and Triggerhappy...

 

Do you know if they had the wave 5 deluxes? I'd very much be willing to drive over there for some of those.

I suppose based on some of what's been said the East Town Knox Ollies is probably out of Tryps by now but they had the wave 2 deluxes (Krok, Twinferno, etc. on an endcap near the toys).

Word of warning. I picked up a spare Tryp from the East Knox Ollie's for my cousin and it is absolutely one of the earlier run QC issue laden figures.

I've theoretically fixed the hips, but the tail ratchet is definitely frayed inside already.
If the ones Ollie's is getting are the early run figures just keep your head up, if you haven't opened yours yet take a peek at the hip and tail fix guides, it really isn't rough internal work so don't be daunted, but you may just want to do it before you ever actually mess with him.

The tail is a lot harder to get to and the best pro tip I've found if you don't want to deal with it is to just tighten the screw on the center of the tail joint very sternly. Worked on mine.
Hopefully all of yours are in better shape.
