    YouTube (Legacy):
Plot twist: The Prime Wars Trilogy is incredibly meta like the Lego movies and it really is just kids playing with Transformers in their backyard. It would explain the horrible dialogue at least.

That was... pointless. I want to like this but I can't find a reason to. We need Overlord kicking more combiners in the nuts.

I don't know why everyone seems so harsh on the Prime Trilogy cartoon, other than that frame rate. That is definitely shit. Some cheesy things here and there sure, but overall I think it's pretty good? Entertaining at least. Feels less cheesy than G1 to be honest.

I do feel like I'm missing out on something though as if I should have read comics? like I have no idea who some characters are, but intrigued by them (Overlord, Megatronous) or fully about what Combiners are doing as a group/society now? Like why is Menasaur and Devastator fighting Megatron?

As to this episode: Yea why IS Predaking and Volcanicus working together?

This show has nothing to do with the IDW comics beyond featuring both the Enigma of Combination and the Mistress of Flame, albeit both are very different to their IDW versions.

Still doesn't answer for me who these characters are. That's the point I'm making. And yea I had no idea about Windblade, Mistress, etc. But I assumed from the comics. Which to me is why I'm saying I feel a lot of lore is missing. This is just right into action expecting me to know what is going on in this world.

And that is how I can see it's a weakness. It seems like there is something there, just now I'm thrown in.

But I thought the comics also have the Autobots and Decepticons not really fighting anymore either?

The difference being that Beast Wars was created to put out on TV while this series has a much lower budget and is the Hasbro equivalent of someone making an animated short for youtube. Sure they could do better if they had a larger budget, but they don't.

Anyway, I'd like to see a fandub with 80s-like voices and the original 80s music.

Its not an animated hand-drawn cartoon. All the different character models (robot and vehicle counting as seperate) cost money which is why we see so few different ones.

It would have made more sense if Victorion did split up and drive/fly in their individual components' vehicles modes. But budget reasons.

No. They appeared in IDW but the toys were made first for the fan choice poll and IDW just used the toys as new characters.

Compare them to Drift who is the exact opposite - he originated in the comics and a toy was later made of him.

They're not. Volcanicus isn't at all intelligent so is just acting on instinct, which just so happens to co-incide with Predaking's actions.

I have enjoyed the series. Did not expect epic, just a fun ride with eye candy.

So far, it’s been three episodes of Megatronus pontificating (to himself), Megatron going “Hmmmm”, and three robots running from Predaking and Volcanicus. Not the most enthralling show.

On a side note (and I know I’m overthinking a kids show, but...), these have to be the dumbest autobots I’ve ever seen. Windblade could just fly away, or distract the big idiot combiners while the others escape. Instead joins the other two idiots by running in a straight line after being shot that way twice in a row. And I know this was in Titans Return, but Optimus Prime’s ridiculous suicide charge at a “God”. Are these bots allergic to survival? With the way this show is written, I’m waiting for Perceptor to attempt to solve the mystery by Bashing his own head with a mallet repeatedly.

Mark Hamill going "Ehhhnnnyyyeaarrgh" was unintentionally hilarious after Megatronus accidentally kills Solus. Was he passing a kidney stone? :D  And besides, the gun that can apparently vaporize half a tower left both of them intact, also it seems this thing was designed so badly it has no safety and lightly touching it can set it off? Solus really has herself to blame.
I assume the spark flying away was Menasor's (sigh, combiners don't have one spark) and Megatronus was at the well of All Sparks? Does not explain still why the body of Solus disappears when she dies and turns into a spark... unlike with anyone else.
(Btw, this is not the show's fault but boy the name Solus Prime annoys me every time I hear it, having learned Latin myself... it ends with "us" so it is of a masculine declination... yet we have Prima who is of a feminine declination with the "a" ending, and the two are of course, totally the wrong gender. Why didn't they make Prima the female Prime and Solus the male? Would have made so much more sense)

I watch all cartoons there, frankly. I only buy the good ones on DVD/BR. I have TV subscription to various toon channels, but prefer to watch things in original english, and whenever I want to.

Well he is stupid enough to tell Predaking that he has the Enigma and then realizes "oh yeah, now I am being chased by a gestalt who can catch me in a few steps, and my alt-mode cannot move on its own". So yeah, he is stupid.
I have to ask, WHY is Volcanicus just jogging alongside Predaking? Didn't he shot him? Aren't the Dinobots well known to have a rivalry with the Predacons? Why isn't he fighting them?
And why does Predaking want the Enigma? He is not working for Megatronus. Hell I totally forgot even, how did Megatronus get the Enigma?

Y'know what would have made sense? Hasbro simply taking the WFC/FOC/etc models from those games and giving them to the animators. For Primus' sake, that game was made in the n Unreal Engine. People with far less resources and money than Machinima have made better animations in that engine than these three terrible series. They could have saved money by using the models from those games (pretty sure Hasbro has a right to them). It even has a combining Bruticus and Trypticon. Would have also made sense that they have cybertronian alt modes, given that so far all the show takes place on Cybertron and Earth was not even referenced.

No, because this show is advertising the the Combiner Wars, Titans Return and Power of the Primes toylines - so characters have to somewhat resemble the toys.

It's too bad that nobody made a Victorion head that looks like Machinima's model. The toy one looks like a section of some sort of alien totem pole.
