That's why I'm glad the one set I want so far is the one with the head. I can get into all sorts of head swap shenanigans with a Stan Lee head. If there were twice as many BAF pieces in the figure (such as a huge Mangog or Galactus or something) I could see it, but since this is probably a chameleon suit body split in three chunks with a new head I really don't see where they get the fall to put them in 40 dollar two packs.
Hmmmm, that's a great idea! Now, I just don't remember if I have any Chameleon figures but I have a feeling I passed on it. Edit: and I just checked eBay in case and they are ridiculously expensive. Oh well.
I have no interest in Black Dwarf. The other two are manditory. Maybe they will get a Select. Maw had a good bit of screentime for a secondary villain. Too bad they shoved two extreme peg warmers in wave 1. They could've done most of the BO.
Quick question: is the 3.75 line dead? Would anyone know if there will be new releases aside from the teased Mr Negative set?
Friend of mine stated he saw IW wave two earlier today, but only leftovers of Malekith and Black Widow. Only figure I'm interested in from the wave is Black Knight so I'm waiting to see if I can get him for less than retail on eBay without the baf piece after the hype dies down. Works about 95% of the time.
Anyone think we're going to see some new future waves of ML at SDCC? Also, shouldn't there be announcements of the ML SDCC exclusives here soon?
I would expect we'll get plenty of announcements at SDCC via the usual booth setup and panel. As for exclusives, now that you mention it, it varies from year to year but right around this time last year we heard about Battle for Asgard, so hopefully between now and the end of June? I don't recall Hasbro being consistent in announcement rollouts so we may have to wait a while.
Uh, let's see. There's also an MCU Phil Coulson on that body, and an MCU Bruce Banner. Both of those were part of Amazon exclusives I recall. There's also a Purple Man figure on that buck. Not sure how much cheaper any of them are. The MS10 Iron Man 1 2-pack is has a Tony in a suit as well that is probably a repaint of the Chameleon. So 80 is better than 200 right?
Thanks for all the ideas! I don't have any of those figures because I don't really buy action figures of normal looking people. The thought that one of the 2 packs might come with a figure with the exact same mold as the body of the BAF is even more irritating lol!
Yeah that MCU Coulson and Banner have survived many collection purges. Refuse to give those two up until better comes.
If you are still looking by this Friday, i am heading up to one of my local Vintage Stock stores. I have the the wave minus Black Widow on hold till then. I am selling off the figures, minus Thor, for $15 each, just a heads up.
Yes it's dead. Hasbro might say more at sdcc but if Mr. Negative was tooled, it'll probably be released as an exclusive eventually. A LOT more. Hasbro saves the best ML reveals for SDCC/NYCC
Has anyone found the Groot, Thor, Rocket 3-pack at TRU? I saw reports of the set being found in Canada, but don't think I've ever seen a report in the US. Also, yes I know you can order this set online from BBTS, EE, etc.
Yeah, but AFAIK pretty exclusively to South Florida, Texas, and Northern California. That was several weeks ago too, so they're probably all gone and on eBay and comic stores at triple the price. And in typical late game fashion, some of those places got 40 or so of them, while the rest of us not in those areas get zilch.
Thanks! I guess that explains the sudden surge in pre-owned figures. Damn. I am still missing characters on my list.
You're welcome. The latest release was the Deadpool rainbow 5 pack at Barnes and Noble. TRU is clearing out the 2 packs from last year too. The line started dying when Hasbro jumped the MSRP to $12.99 and gradually reduced articulation. In addition they rebranded the line as Avengers Infinite, then Marvel Infinite. With the newer figures having less articulation than Marvel Universe and with 6" Legends costing $8 more but having way more articulation, people started dropping the 4" line. I haven't. My local stores look like they are in full clear out mode rather than getting new stock.
