To be fair, Takara did it with their Sunstreaker.

Sunstreaker is not a repaint/remold of Sideswipe.

I know. But if Takara designed Sideswipe now they would probably give it working doors and hood too like their Sunstreaker.

I think that is a fair assessment. Mp12 was awesome for the time, but what TT can do now makes any new bots so much more Superior. I love my mp12+... Like love him,. But this BC version is going to be my main SS until something even better comes along.

Agreed. A digibash is no different from someone saying 'i hate this part about the figure, would prefer it altered' etc.

Sorry if it comes across as offensive but:

Ever since the idiot that came up with the term "Arm something" we get these kinds of posts. Face it guys, you have to be able to do everything in order to have an opinion. Its impossible to tell a cook how to deal with the salt dosage if you are not a cook or its impossible to tell a painter to thin down the paint a bit if you dont paint. Bottom line is: Shut up and take it. Bright logic there.

Sarcasm asside, if the designers responce is what you quote SCPrime, instead of "Well good/bad opinion, because of x/y reasons. Or mabe that can work", I can give that designer some advice: Get off your high horse m8.

Their take on Sideswipe doesn't really do much for me, but their Red Alert is mildly tempting. Still, I don't feel like swapping out characters at this stage of my collection. It's the same reason that I sold off my Howling Meteor (purchased to sate my curiosity). I just didn't want to go down that rabbit hole when I already had the core seekers crossed off my list.

Eh, less salt and more watery paint isn't the same as designing a complex device like a transformer. There is some truth to the sillyness of expecting a digi to be taken seriously by a design team. Some are better at it than others but I'm willing to bet nearly no one on these boards has a comparitive clue.

That's why I went 3rd Party for TB and Hoist. Got them both for probably cheaper than one from TT will cost...and got them lord knows how much sooner.

With ShowZ at $78, I'm thinking around $65 with a flash sale should be possible. At that price I will consider it. Which is lame because I just picked up MP-12+ a few months ago because my original MP-12 had the shit paint job issue.

I never said one can't give opinions or criticism. But if you are going to go as far as offering a Photoshop then you should realize that what is being suggested is likely not going to work. Clearances are most of the time pretty tight. 2 or 3 mm bigger would likely mean plastic rubbing on plastic when transforming. Anything even bigger than that would be physically impossible unless you have certain pieces collaspse onto itself. You want to show people what you are thinking visually? Cool. Have at it. You want people, especially the designer, to take your suggestion more seriously? Offer something more than just resizing a pic. But just like how one can give opinion and criticism. Others can also give an opinion as to how a photoshopped idea would not work at its surface.

As I said, if I had a cent each time....Nobody said them how to work their figures, everything was a suggestion. You people should really stop thinking everything antagonistically and take a chill pill. A suggestion is a suggestion, not a reprimand.

I guess I am not reading SCprime's post like the rest of you guys. To me he is making a valid point. The digibashes are great in that they point out what could be changed that would take a figure to the next level. That said, one must consider that translating it to real world physics would precipitate that other changes to be made in order to make everything fit. Not saying that it can't be done, but at this point it would basically cause BC (or any other company) to go back to the drawing board and basically start from scratch. That aint happening. At best we would get a minor change like a new face or a paint job adjustment.

That said, I really do enjoy looking at the digibashes as they do give a window into what the potential is for a figure. I guess I just enjoy them for what they are.

And my suggestion was to come with something more than a Photoshop that shows something that is physically impossible to do on the surface if you want the designer to take the suggestion seriously. I can see the forest from the tree.

Ι seriously doubt at this stage of production (when something is expected within a three month period to see release), when everything is nearly ready they will take a suggestion and reverse their plans. They are far too commited to that. But the thing is a good suggestion can always be incorporated in a future release. Imagine how good it would be if they released, say a SG redeco for Swipe and it had the photoshoped head as a bonus.

First of all, I dont think you can speak from a designers PoV and what they can or not take seriously right? Secondly yes you are looking at the tree and only the tree. Nobody here is going to do the designers job, they are giving their ideas. Nothing more nothing less. If they want to do so they will dont worry.

Things like lengthening the thighs, cutting the sharp edges off them a bit, or changing the head sculpt are most definitely something that could be done on this. I think most digi bashers realize that the engineering for some changes would be impossible and just want to visualize their thoughts and wishes. I also believe that most people understand that any changes aren't likely to be made to this one, given how close it appears to be from an actual release. Maybe some of the digis are just for fun, ya know?

Could very easily see one of these two being my first purchase from Bad Cube. All depends on Transformation, and decent Reviews.
