I've been wanting a new Sideswipe for a long damn time so this makes me happy. Now, it's all going to come down to price. If this is a reasonable cost I'm in I'm talking around $75.

Also, I'd kill for a Shattered Glass version.

 

Hmmm. Legs are a lot cleaner. It's a fucking horrible face sculpt though. Like scary bad. Heads a bit off also.
Looks like the bonnet collapses and a new piece folds in over the centre- Lamborghini logo on the car is missing on the bot. Wish they collapsed it a little more. I want the toons narrow chest and this isnt quite there yet.

Give the face another go and I might be interested. I need a new Sideswipe. Probably too late to make the chest even narrower though.

 

I think it might be hollow looking at the sides. Not very clean looking bot mode. Alt mode looks really nice.

The face on BC Red Alert looks fantastic though!!! Much better than their Sideswipe.

Well, it's nice to see one 3P finally tackle the carbots and see if they can do them better than the aging Takara molds. Props for that. Curious to see how they turn out!

 

nice, I wasn't that convinced with OTS-14, but OTS-15 Red Alert I could add to my collection

 

Vehicle made is great and I like the proportions in both modes. BUT, for everything this gets right there's another thing it gets wrong. The head is no bueno, the cutaway on the front of the knees is less than desirable and the boring/plane jane unscuplted hips... why?

The result of all this there's just not enough here to warrant a purchase/replacing my current MP. I'd just be trading one fig with minor issues for another.

 

I think you might want to update the name in the thread title to Steamroll.

yea, i agree, the head on Sideswipe not the best, but damn is it awesome for Red Alert!!!

Looks like I may be selling my toon version of MP Sideswipe once this sees release.

 

When they make transformation decisions like "no partsforming" you can almost guarantee the transformation will be a BadCube style transformation.

Red Alert is glorious. 110% buy.

Funny thing is I very nearly bought both of these in + yesterday with the intention of giving Sideswipe a new head. Looks like my plans have altered slightly. Bring em on.

If they gave Sideswipe a slimmer toon head then this' d stomp on Takara imo.

 

I did not see that coming.
It looks superb, barring the dodgy head sculpt, but I'm not convinced I need to trade up on the MP. We'll see how the money talks when the pre-orders go up.

 

Speak for yourself, best thing i did was selling my MP Sideswipe. It looks horrible nest to MP Sunstreaker, but this, damn, crushes the official even with the slightly less nicer head sculpt of the official, there is no saving it or wanting it on my shelves along with MP Sunstreaker. For BC Sunstreaker, i think they just need to improve their headsculpt, unlike their Red Alert that is perfect from the get go.

EDIT: Finally someone added a jet pack to Sideswipe. Sigh...I thought Ill take a hike from collecting Autobots and give my Deceps some love, but first TT and Cordon, now this....I need a garage only for the Lambos....
