Hopeless move, quakeblast just owns this guy.
Don't care about the megatron, they just can't seem to decide which way to go, toy or showwise. Maybe they should have gone best of both worlds, instead of relasing everything double.

The extra point conversion would translate into store credit toward a future purchase, I believe, so TT Mall has that going for it.

The high price tags on both Shockwave and Megatron will likely force me to grab only one of each with no double-dipping. Ah well, such is life.

I wish I'd sold my lilac-wave ages ago as he's been sitting in a box since he was replaced by Quakewave V2 on my shelves... After he himself replaced a V1 Quakewave. Now the official is back to kick this Quakewave onto eBay as well.

Christ, and I'm not even a Shockwave fan and I'll have had 4 different versions of the character!

But the masterpiece repaint that I want most is a toon accurate wheeljack.

 

I believe you'll need to go through some sort of third party buyer service since TT Mall only ships to those customers with local Japanese addresses. Which is something that American online retailers like TFSource and BBTS most likely do as well, considering their higher prices to bring these exclusive imports in from overseas.

I believe the ¥21,600 price tag on MP-29+ Shockwave already includes the 8% consumption tax on all Japanese goods (making the original price ¥20,000 before tax), and that translates roughly to ~$196 USD before any shipping and handling charges or COD fees.

Compare that to the $219.99 USD price tag for preorders on TFSource, with the extra ~$24 going toward middleman fees, overseas shipping overhead, and profit to make it worth their trouble. It is what it is; no judgment on my part as to what online e-tailers are charging for him.

The bonus point buyers conversion on TT Mall during the May 14-31 time period says pre-ordering Shockwave will net buyers up to ¥4,000 (~$36 USD) in store credit (which can be applied toward future purchases on your TT Mall account).

Taking this into consideration, MP-29+ Shockwave would be about $160 USD before shipping, when it's all said and done. Not too terrible, I think. TT Mall has also said on their site that there is a purchase limit of 3 items per person, if I'm not mistaken.

So I have one simple question about Shockwave: why isn't this the one we got to begin with?
It has tampographed insignias, the correct colours, and they actually painted it this time. This should have been MP-29. It's like TakaraTomy purposefully half-ass these figures so they can "fix" them later. Well, I have MP-29 and he's underwhelming so I'll be getting Quakeblast instead of this repaint that should have just been the original version from the start.

Megatron is fine. Not sure why we couldn't get the toy head in the original package, and I would have loved some red on the legs of MP-36, but it's not a big deal, especially since we already have a KO (or would it be third-party since it's an original mould, but packaged with KOs?) toy head which is at least as good as this official one, if not better. So, you know, black Megatron MP-36 repaint which I totally called. That's nice for people who want it. I don't, but then again, I already have MP-36.
The only real complaint would be the nicer-looking paint job - as much as I like the metallic grey they used, it scratches easily, and this silver looks a lot sharper than MP-36 did. The chest detailing is also gorgeous. So yeah, it would have been nice if MP-36 had such a premium-looking paint job, especially for the high price. Oh well.
