I guess he sold well but he got another run so quick because V1 was a piece of poop. Being his secondary price has never really came down and we probably won't ever see a reissue of MP-9( especially after Fire Convoy)...Who knows

 

Did they ever acknowledge the problems of the first batch? How soon did people understand those problems?

 

They announced it in 2015 and they even showed a gray prototype, but it was pushed to the back burner in favor of other releases. They still show it coming.

That would be probably the most memorable day in TF MP history and probably honestly would be a landmark day in all of Transformers history. And the thing about it is it's fairly certain that Trailbreaker would be coming out later- which to me would make it even more epic in a way.

 

As mentioned few months ago, MP Hound will be revealed this year. And, a staff from Hasbro Asia also mentioned that MP Jazz and Mirage will be sold next year.

BTW, a repaint of MP Shockwave is in the pipeline. Not sure how true it is, please take this with mountain of salt.

 

Wow that would be awesome, the trifecta of remaining carbots (the regular car-sized ones) in the space of two years.

And Shockwave, assuming it’s a toy deco repaint, would ideally need a bit of upsizing too.

 

The shockwave repaint is more likely than not an Astro Magnum repaint

 

Considering the track record of other "inside" information? I'd say about 0.000001%.

Also, "with a grain of salt" means it's completely made up by someone.

 

@Markus76 is just being incredibly sour because he hasn’t had his fix recently. @tco has a decent - which means good - history of getting rumours relatively right. You just have to keep in mind that Takara is increasingly tight-lipped these days, and there are a lot of changing plans probably. Things like complex licensing deals lead to there being plane A, B, C, and so on that anyone could hear.

 

Ha...you did hit the nail on that, but I'm sure no one is happy when there is nothing new on the horizon except a blind hope in a corporation.

Truth be told, if there were always something announced as coming, no matter how slow, I'd be a bit more optimistic. It is a pipedream to think Takara is going to make an MP of every character ever, so the threat of the line ending before a favorite character is released is always there.

It's fun to speculate and dream. That's what this thread is all about, but eventually, you'll just come to accept that we don't know a thing...good or bad...until Takara either announces something or we all just give up. I've gotten over my hangups about 3rd party because there is now a very real risk of never getting an official MP of some characters.

The only time I recall something being accurate was leaked test shot photos of an MP Megatron prototype. Eventually, someone will be right about an MP Galvatron coming...hopefully.

Rumor and innuendo runs rampant in the community. It is what it is.

Though you can probably just check back at the beginning of June around Tokyo Toy Show, we'll definitely hear something by then.

 

I certainly hope they reveal something awesome. Because this drought is getting to be harsher than a dry summer in the Sahara.
