When shopping, I usually use the links on top of TFW2005 to go to the respective site, BBTS, TFS, Toy Dojo, etc.

I noticed Captured Prey isn't there any longer. Anyone know what happened?

It costs money to be a site sponsor...my guess is CP decided it wasn't worth that cost anymore.

It looks like Toy Dojo took their place next to the top sponsors.

I never could find out how much it cost to be a site sponsor. Probably wasn't worth it.

Well no kidding, but I was asking if any actually knew what happened or happening with them. They were my favorite US shop for TF and always clicked the link for this site to help.

Hmm, I don't see them. Could it be because an ad blocker I use? I tried refreshing a couple of times and didn't see them.

    That's good to hear.

I just tried refreshing this page six or seven times and CP showed up down there more than once.

Thanks. Ok that's good to hear.

Just used to it being on top, but not a big deal.

I sent them a message a couple days ago inquiring when do they think the site will be updated but haven't gotten a response yet so was curious if anyone here knew of anything.

Sidecutter just recently in the past few months moved into a new space. I've been in it and I can tell you it's hella impressive. Like, I've been in actual retail stores that are smaller. So if you're worried he might be going out of business or disappearing, I doubt that's the case.

Well, TFW staff isn't going to be able to share that publicly. So unless Sidecutter wants to share, then what can you know? Unless you just want to be assured they're not going out of business...then the post above should put that worry away.

Sounds like he's gearing up so he can have more stock on hand. For me that's been one of my biggest annoyances with CP half of their selection seems to sell out long before it's released or almost immediately after it arrives. That and it would be really handy if he implemented a POL type system.

Thanks! Was looking/hoping for reassuring posts like this.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. While staff responses would have been nice (not expected), I asked on this board mainly for fellow members for actual info. Not guesses with no backing or to be pointed to a post in my thread where I can read.

He has one, if not best, prices for a US retailer. He does sell out fast, so if his stock improves, that'd be great!

Hey guys - so without too many behind the scenes details, the costs of the sponsorship increased a fair bit a couple years ago, and right now, it feels like that amount of funding could probably be better funneled to other uses, so yeah, I let the TFW sponsorship go when the second quarter came around. It was a tough decision to do it, and it's been under consideration for a while, but for now I think it's the correct move as things are considered and shuffled a bit. In the meantime, we also have teamed up with the awesome Benson Yee over at BWTF.com and are now a sponsor with him. We may look at picking the TFW slot back up in the future, or perhaps picking up one of their "bottom of the page" slots as well.

A lot of people probably know about the trouble we ran into coming back into the US from TFCon Canada last year, and that has definitely stung a fair bit, I'm still working on resolving that somehow, as well. The last few months have also been a bit of a ride in a lot of ways, and yeah, the site is definitely behind because of it, which I'm not thrilled with. I won't say things haven't been a little rough, but at this moment, closing up shop is not the plan.

I feel you on this one - it's kind of a catch-22, right? Most of the time we have to have orders, especially for Takara or a lot of 3P stuff, put in several months ahead of release. Particularly with Takara stuff, once that deadline hits...that's often it. The suppliers are not ordering a lot of extra over what we, their customers, are ordering, so often we cannot increase an order later. So we have to use those early preorders to try an estimate what is needed. If I guess too low, we sell out before release. if I guess too high, that can be really damaging to a smaller business like mine if enough don't sell. Honestly, it kinda sucks as a system to have to work within. Those initial preorders are absolutely key though, as if I see a lot of those, it tells me I need to order more against as-yet-unspoken demand, usually.

As far as the POL thing, that's always been a backdoor option, with the ability to add something to an order by request. However, this seems as good a time as any to say that this is now an option in checkout, too! You can now choose to add items to your Stasis Pod when you get to the shipping page in checkout, and use the link on the order history page in your account to let us know when you want to ship some or all of it.

Great to hear from you. :thumb

Understandable about the sponsorship, but was mainly wondering if everything was ok. I can't believe things still aren't resolved form TFCon.

I know very little, but they got held up in customs trying to cross back over the border after the show. All the merchandise had to stay in Canada until it could be cleared, I think is what happened.
