i don’t think I’ve ever called anything fanstoys ‘the shiz’, but this thing is looking like xtb aesthetic with, due to the accompanying lack of complaints, a really good quality. Excited she’s on the way and makes me excited for their hot rod too. Good show, ft.

Initial thoughts:
+Finally a decent MP G1 Arcee.
+Looks really good on the '86 Movie shelf.
+Materials are top notch as always. In-hand feel reflects this as well.
+Paint apps are clean. I had some dirt on her chest out of the package. For a moment, I thought it was an actual defect, but it rubbed right off. Yes, I rubbed it off on her chest...  

-Super fidgety backpack, chest, and neck. Many of the places on the figure that you'd normally place your fingers while manipulating it seems to be something that's one a hinge or a joint or a light tab, so posing is challenging. This is like MakeToys Downbeat levels of holding all the Jenga bits together while trying to get that pose you're aiming for without something caving in or coming undone and frustrating your attempt to get it just right.
-Some balance/standing issues
-The ugly arthritis hands we know about.
-The thigh swivels should be in the hip joint for best visual and more natural point of rotation.
-Lack of waist swivel.
-Neck/chest gap. Sides of chest gap.

Overall, not a very fun figure in the way that I perceive that factor. She'd rate mid to low on a list ranking FT's releases, if I made one. Which is still better than a lot of non-FT figures out there, but for FT I'm moderately unimpressed. I wouldn't say "disappointed", but perhaps close to it.

edit: One more thought:
Moving the head is just like MMC's Reformatted Azalea - making her look in certain directions results in the neck and chest coming untabbed. That might have been the only disappointing bit to experience, like, FT didn't bother to do a little competitive research to see how other 3P Arcees work and some of their engineering shortcomings? Less than a minute with Azalea would have generated a mental note to ensure the chest and neck on Rouge tab in really well when the user is attempting to pose the head.

I just can't believe after all this time they shipped her backpack pylons like that. Like a door hinge with the door taken off, just floppin' there. This might be the first FansToys product that invites another 3rd party to create add-ons for it... then again their Perceptor never received a good face by now...

Nonetheless, that's definitely Arcee. Nothing else has come close to this, even if you have to struggle to pose it.

I was honestly on the fence, and came close to cancelling my PO in favour of getting a Wei Jiang Alcee, but your wife's pics convinced me to make this the first FT figure that I've preordered that I'll actually end up going through with buying. I usually end up cancelling due to money but I need an MP Arcee, and suspect Altmode aside this is the one.

Looking forward to leaving that rifle in the box though, and the open mouth faces as well.

 

Thanks! She was definitely tricky to keep standing, esp given the grill floor surface. Clearly, she is fun to pose though.

 

Loving this figure more and more with all the pics. Can't wait until mine gets here (didn't make it out of pre-shipment today so I guess I'll be getting her Thursday at the earliest). I'm a little surprised though - in the prototype pictures, I thought the curvier chest looked nicer on her but in the photos we've been seeing over the past few days, I think I'm actually liking the flatter one better. I guess I'll try them both and see which I prefer.

I'm a little tempted to try to customize her hands. Should be easy enough to design and 3d print replacement wrists that can have posable 1/144 Gundam hands installed. Unfortunately, color matching would be a problem and there's no way I'm repainting the whole figure  

 

You could always get Wei Jiang's for alt mode. It's not terribly expensive.

 

I'm probably going to swap to the flat chest too. The curvy ones evoke too much of a real human wearing a top. I thought it'd like it more than I do, so yeah, will likely be swappin.

Oh speaking of alt mode. That car mode is still ugly as hell. The back end actually is the best part, but that front is just... eugh.
The front end of Alcee is 100x better, even if less G1 or whatever.

I'm going to keep my preorder, because FT stuff tends to sell out (and because I have some other stuff in my stack waiting to ship, and Rouge will put me over $150). But I'm not totally convinced that this is the Arcee for me... something about her look is still off in some way, and I'm not a fan of fiddly figures in general (or some of FT's "we definitely overthought this" transformations, like Spindrift, Apache, or Koot, which it sounds like Rouge might have). I've been trying to cut back on the boxes I save since I moved, but hers will go in the closet. Then I'll hope MMC's turns out better; if it does, I'll sell Rouge, probably for a small loss. If MMC's turns out to be rubbish, then at least I'll still have Rouge.

Wow. I never realized how incredibly much P.M.s look like Arcee! I mean, that IS Arcee's head, no color changes even made.

That sure would be awesome.

There are a few things that I definitely don't like about the final product's appearance - thoracic gap, gaps around ball joints, light pink instead of pale lavender, channels for screws, the emaciated arms - but I'm still excited.
In fact, the pics make me want to find an Apache and Koot...

Oh yeah: provided the balls in the ball joints have plenty of tension, can those flex gaps be filled without ruining the tension?

 

I'd love to as I genuinely love that Altmode but that's money I need for PotP Nemesis Prime. Or the entirety of Wave 3 for that matter. I'm taking a very large step outside my budget getting a 3P figure that isn't Iron Factory and if there were more than two upcoming official MP's that I want I wouldn't be getting Rouge at all.

Mhhhh...after the latest pictures I guess my configuration for her will be: flat chest, big eyes and small pistol. I really like the "anime" head more than I thought. It's the only face that captures her gentle and caring side from The Movie. The small eyes are closer to the S3/Headmasters animation style.

 

I'm trying to decide if I like the big eyes or not. Probably have to see it in person. I really want to capture this look:



It does kind of look like this screenshot. But maybe that's too extreme?
