Wait they clearly chose G1 art for the announcement, what makes you think that?

People who are disagreeing with me: you guys really think it's feasible for them to make solo Energon or multiple Bayformers booster sets? Those would sell enough to keep the game going? Keep in mind there most likely wouldn't be multiple booster sets each round. Even then, if only the "good" series sells and the other shelfwarms, how is that okay for the game?

What I'm advocating for in no way prevents you from playing a Prime deck against a Beast Wars deck. That's a given no matter what they do.

Guys, I get you don't like certain iterations of Transformers, but be realistic here. If you're looking at this from a consumer/collector's point of view, fine. You don't want want cards from things you don't like. However, from a business/card game point of view the game can die if every series were to be its own pack due to lack of sales for certain series or the wait time for the series you want takes too long and you lose interest. Beast Wars is high on your list? That's fine, but is it high on Hasbro/WotC's?

At least what I'm advocating for, people who only want certain series will get them, perhaps earlier. You just have to keep buying through the cards you don't want to get the cards you do want. That's the entire nature of booster packs. You know, like EVERY card game?

"I play blue in Magic the Gathering but what are all these red cards doing in my booster pack? Why can't I buy a pack of only blue cards?"

    ^That's essentially what you're saying.

What Weiss Schwarz does is what these guys want, but there's no reason for Attack on Titan cards to be in the same pack as say Fate/Stay Night in the first place. It'd be a licensing nightmare. Transformers on the other hand, while they exist in separate continuities, can be done this way.

You're on point about the various fans. This is a Transformers card game. Not an Animated card game, RiD2001 card game, etc. They could be waiting a long time for the series they want and like Weiss Schwarz, even if they get that one set, longer continuities like G1 and Bayformers keep getting new cards while you don't resulting in one-time customers. And finally, are there enough Beast Machines fans who will also buy the cards and buy enough to keep the game going?

Not to mention Weiss Schwarz sets are also divided by color. It inherently gives you cards you don't want if you're only trying to build Red, Green, etc.

How is that a smarter idea? You act as if they have unlimited resources like time and money for this venture. What, is the game immortal and can survive poor sales on multiple "bad" boosters just to see? Many card games can't live past one set.

Hasbro has enough funds to make 3 or 4 expansion sets, I'm sure. Have the initial decks be a mixture, with a focus on G1. First expansion movie verse focused. Second is beast wars focused, third, prime/animated, etc focused. Each expansion, however, also brings in new concepts for the game itself.

why I won't get into this AT ALL: I'd want to make a complete set of cards (not play the game) and the biggies like Op and Megs will be "ultra-mega-super rare turbo-platinum 1-in-4,000 pack" cards that cost $10,000 each on the 2ndary market while common cards like Beachcomber and Wheelie will be virtually guaranteed in every pack. Sorry, not going thru that again, so i'm not touching it at all.

I'd prefer a uniform art style wit a mix of all the different versions (G1, movies, Unicron Trilogy, IDW, Zone, etc), but able to mix whoever I want into workable teams within reason. Could be fun.

Me: "Whoa cool Transformers collecting cards! Maybe that would be a cheap way to stay in TF once I finish downscaling my collecting habits."

I saw mention of Transformers and learning to play in a Tweet by Lion Rampant Imports. It looked like they might have been talking about this, so I asked if they had more information. They replied with a Tweet linking to this front page post and said they will be showing it off and teaching at their open house. I Googled for information about their open house and it looks like it'll be from May 9th-10th.

    Their Tweet:

I can see Bee, Prowl, and Ironhide(?) on one of the cards.
If there are cards of Swipe, Sunny and Jazz......count me in.

There's no way there won't be cards for them. They're big names for G1 especially, and given the new TCG recycles artwork from the old Legends app, it's going to be G1 themed.

I kept an eye on their Facebook and Twitter, but I didn't see any mention of this game. I still follow them on Twitter, so I'll post here if anything relevant comes up.
