Does anyone know if the boxset fixes any or all problems the individual releases have?

I don’t know if any boxsets exist (yet). I’m pretty sure that the “set” TF source is selling is just the five individuals.

See, that's the thing. I read several people still had issues with the combined mode and Ben's review also had issue with the fitting of the replacement parts. That's why I'm asking.

They're the same figures, just sold as a set. There is no 'boxed set'.

The fitting is quite snug but doable... Mine stays just fine, but I know that at least one person had problems with Havoc's ankles but only after some time since he applied the fix, maybe due to "creep".

    Edit: watch Emgo's review...

So how posable is this guy? Seems the pics I see are always just him kinda static standing there. Does he have a waist swivel in combined mode? I assume he can't stick his arms out to his sides because of the shoulder cars but it looks like they can come forward. I see posts about issues with the ankles giving way and him leaning forward. Any other issues to look out for?

You can check these two posts, I don't want to have to post all of those pics again, but they have some examples of range of motion for him. As well as posing. (Hit the spoiler tag in that one post.)
His shoulder missiles can move back to allow some outward arm movement.

Something about Havoc's crotch plate looks weird there! My Havoc does not have a crotch like that...

How well did these guys sell overall? Are there many leftovers, and more importantly, what are the odds we’ll we see any discounted for Black Friday this year?

I love this set… Menasor looks great on display… but in the last year I decided that for some of my special teams, my collection needs both the gestalt and the individual bots on display (stupid, addictive, expensive hobby), so I’ve started picking up/pre-ordering the various characters. The good thing about that is that with no intention of combining them, I can mix & match from different companies.

The problem I have with the Stunticons is two-fold:
Firstly, I just hate G1 Motormaster… those Frankenstein cab boots underneath that pile of Tetris pieces it calls a body are an assault on my sensibilities. Unless XTB or DX9 perform some kind of miracle to make their G1 MM’s palatable, I’m most likely going to want another Powertrain, as I do think that figure is gorgeous.
Secondly, some of the TFM limb-bots are just too good not to admire by themselves… particularly Drag Strip (not so much Dead End), and they’re different enough from the G1 figures we’ll be getting, that I don’t mind having two different versions of those characters on display.

So, I’m probably in for another Powertrain… maybe a couple more… and (knowing my OCD), if I get to four I’ll probably end up wanting the lot (again).

I’ve not doubled-down on any figure as yet, but I don’t like the idea of paying full whack for something I’ve already got a version of… so what are the odds of seeing these discounted sometime in the future?

You know… I think this same predicament will happen once GT’s Defensor is finished as well.

There seems to be a glut of Powertrain figures, and way less limbs out there.

I ended up spending $100 on Carnage because there are so few out there. But you can get Powertrain for $135 if you know what you’re doing.

I simple buyed two sets for the same reason... I paid full price for both, but I was buying them while they were coming out one by one... so it was not as hard for my wallet to handle it. lol

I'm probably the world's biggest idiot: Not a big fan of the looks of the limbs or Menasor, but Motormaster looks awesome so I've just splashed $169 on him :|
