Yes, but I wasn't talking about "better" or "worse". In terms of size, style, look and feel, they are two very different products. The expectation is that these new "MP" class combiners will be more along the lines of TW Constructor instead of UW Devy. If you dislike the size, appearance, build etc of TW's, chances are that the other "MP" combiners may also not scratch that itch - the big caveat to that of course is that TW Constr isn't all that G1/Toon accurate. If it's just that you don't like about TW... well we have no way to judge as DX9 Menasor is still a mystery. But if it's the cleaner, more simplistic and CHUGish design of UW, I doubt any of the new "MP" stuff will work. I guess the older Ordins and Warbotrons and figures from that era would be a better fit? But of course, this is 100% my own opinion, and everyone is free to like what they like, collect how they want and display how they want. I personally wouldn't mix UW Devy with any MP stuff... but there's nothing to say I'm right or wrong in that. I just .... am what I am. But for me, I hope that DX9's doesn't fit with UW's because I want something larger and more detailed that matches TW and the other "MP" combiners. And that's just my selfishness and nothing more.
Not sure if UW Devastator is actually 45cm or not. The numbers seem to change depending on who is reporting them. Same goes for KO OS Warbatron. He is made of bots that are about a head shorter than an MP seeker. He is listed in some places as 43cm. I just need a Menasor that scales with them. Please forgive the Dutch tilt. I was standing on a chair and didn't align my phone well.
Hmmn, unless UT does a Mensaror scaled with their Bruticus, neither DX9 or KFC are likely to scale with things that short. Does TFM Havoc work for you? Not very G1 but an amazing figure.
In the only scale chart that matters - ie the made up one in my stupid brain - Motormaster is a close match for Prime in truck mode and all the vehicles are nicely in scale with MP carbots. Where that leaves Motormaster vs Prime in robot mode, or the overall combined mode size, I'm not personally fussy about.
I always saw The stunticon as bigger and badder version of the Autobots. That is why they Were so scared of them. So I like the DX9 bigger version.
Agreed. It is also likely that the DX9 versions will have a more premium aesthetic. I just want to see a test shot of Dead End.
The Stunticons, hand built by Megatron himself to rule the roads and destroy the Autobots. Only to be defeated by the Autobots plot armor that good always wins in the end time and again. In my head most of the Autobots never had a chance against them. Can’t wait to see more of the team!
I always thought that the Stunticons had an Achilles' heel in that Megatron built them out of Earth cars. Sure he compensated by giving them indestructible force fields, but if they start to run low on Energon those force fields must weaken or even give out completely. That leaves them relatively substandard, structurally, to a "regular" Autobot or Decepticon, and perhaps easier to defeat. They would be only as durable as the automobiles they are created from once the force field is completely depleted.
I would probably wait to see what else DX9 has for their other Stunticons. There aren't a ton of added accessories like Breakdown's engine piece that I'm aware of. I don't remember XTB Dead End, but I absolutely feel that way about Wildrider and Dragstrip. They look like they are wearing those advertising boards that people have outside some shops. We don't have comparisons with the FT Aerialbots but Dalianjj did post their height (below). IIRC MP-10 is 24.5cm and I've read people say that Seekers are 22cm (though I've never confirmed it)
If that's the case, then the Lambo and Ferrari wouldn't be able to drive 10 miles without breaking down...am I right?
I think I'm sold on this set, I keep coming back to the pics and I just like the overall size better than the XTB offering....... From my estimation, Montana looks to be almost the exact same as the UT Brawl and Swindle which works just fine for me......
They're at least the right size if your collection is mostly MP-centric. Ultimately I'll try both and see which set has staying power on my self, but for now I'm excited about this first one dropping the most.
