You make the assumption that all of us are good at painting, which is clearly not true.
For a personal example, whenever I paint plastic the paint shows ugly marker strokes, never ever dries and remains eternally sticky, attracting fingerprints and all sorts of dust. So, an opportunity to obtain a prepainted weapon is a godsend to me.

 

Practice can improve. Just keep trying to see if your skill can be bettered. Maybe see if your equipment or paint isn’t the best for your specific figure. Heck just get some gundam markers and it will work.

 

Nabbed one of these guns from my local TRU. Tempted to go back to perhaps nab another one.  

EDIT: Grabbed a 2nd gun and gave both to my SS Optimus. He looks good with them!

 

Not assumption, but just a suggestion that one can diy for free. And i wouldn't call it "painting".. just some simple "colouring" ... it doesn't even have to be gundam marker... those sharpie will works just fine with the right color.

 

And consistency.

 

late to the party but i just got it for Dark Optimus from TLK. I'm getting him the MechTech Trailer too. Where have you stowed the shotgun in vehicle mode?

 

I'm displaying him in robot mode actually, so I have the sword on his back and the shield and gun on each hand. There isn't really space to put the gun in truck mode because the shield takes up the whole trailer hitch, but if you're getting the trailer you could put both the shield and the gun inside it.

 

I was hoping you found a way to store the gun or shield in robot or vehicle mode   Otherwise I am Sooo happy with both the Dark Optimus and the gun. He is just so awesome.
