Basically, it's synthetic stone. Typically used in reproductions of statues and shrine type items as well as high end countertops without breaking the bank. So, basically, Darkseid's body is going to be made from a synthetic stone... like I said earlier... that's definitely a first for any toyline I've collected.
Lightweight resin and limestone mix. No, I'm not that smart, I just looked it up. Was curious too. Damn, I hope it's not brittle. I have a few sideshow dioramas made out of it and one of them chipped.
My experience with polystone was the Jabba's throne from Sideshow from several years ago. That thing was heavy and brittle as hell.
Yeah, polystone can be brittle. Though I would hope no one is planning on bashing their mezco one:12 figures together during playtime.
I have only been following Mezco for a couple of months. How often do they tease/ announce figures that haven't been shown at Toy Fairs/ Conventions? Also, what's the typical duration from announcement to release? I feel like there are a couple of figures that have been announced for a while, but preorders are not even listed for them yet...
Bought a spider-man finally before he ends up selling out. Pre-ordered blade and darkseid immediately when they went live. I might go ahead and ship my pol with spidey, x-force wolverine, and bvs knightmare Batman. I'm really hoping I manage to get a deluxe joker that I'm on the waiting list for. Those custom Batman are really sweet. I'm waiting for sovereign for now. Which reminds me that I hope Batman beyond hasn't been lost in production yet. I think I still have most of the justice league figures po'd and hopefully Dr strange, black suit Spidey, and old man Logan show up soon.
Speaking of the waiting list, has anyone ever received delivery of an item they ordered on Mezco's wait list?
Well Darkseid was shown at the 2017 Toy Fair. So it's been over a year just for a pre-order. Most are not like that though. There really isn't a concrete time frame. Just whenever they get to it. But you can pretty much expect a figure to drop every month. Sometimes 2. Last December was like 4.
Just received notice this morning that my wait list for All-Black Ascending Knight Batman has come through. Expect to be charged anytime in the next two weeks.
Just got my Mezco Spider-Man today. I think that he looks great. The only thing that is throwing me off is the neck. Did I get a defect or is the neck supposed to look like that?
Old man Logan is cool. TBH I didn't like the original comic series too much. Hated the backstory on what made him become that way (wtf? But I guess that would do it). Also hated what they made Hawkeye and Hulk become. Just a shock value story really that was too shocky for me. But, the figure is pretty damn cool and I can make up my own backstory. It's just wolverine in the future when he grows older.
