So, a couple thoughts after watching the past couple weeks:

WWE needs to make up their minds if they want to keep the whole "rematch clause" thing. Why do the Bar, the Miz, and Jinder Mahal get their automatic rematch via the clause, but Orton and the Usos had to earn their rematch on SmackDown? Keep it or ditch it, I don't care...just be consistent!

Speaking of which, when is Orton's rematch? Is it at Backlash, facing whoever wins the Jeff/Jinder rematch? The quick title changes make this messy.

I kinda wish the shake-up would last longer than one week, especially with how many people moved. It seems like too many people were just announced like an afterthought due to time constraints. I would almost say have a month with fluid roster "trades", and then after the month's deadline, the rosters are set for one more year. I would also say while reigning champions are NOT exempt, they may only be traded for their respective counterparts. The way they handled the US title was akward and kinda killed even the weakest half-dead shreds of kayfabe and disbelief that remain.

There are reports that Alexa Bliss is not attending the international tour in Africa because she is getting a boob job. Looks like the Diva's era is still alive and kicking if that is true.

Yeah I don't think that's necessary at all but hopefully it was her call and not management's.

You answered your own question. As private contractors, Orton and the Usos weren't able to negotiate rematch clauses into the title contracts. We don't know the legal wrangling that goes into these title match contracts. #kayfabeonly

Huh? Private contractors? I'm lost. Could you please elaborate?

The key is the "#kayfabeonly" he put at the end. He gave you a kayfabe explanation, as opposed to the real-life answer of the WWE writers ignoring details like that when it suits their purposes.

Yeah, I heard about that. He apparently threw hot coffee in Jake's face when Jake was extending his hand to him for a handshake. I've heard before that DBSJr uses steroids, I wonder if this could be a little roid rage? If so, you'd think he'd have learned from what roids and drugs did to his father.

It was a kayfabe answer (that works IMO), and I called them private, but the wrestlers are actually classified by the WWE as independent contractors. They do this for tax and liability reasons and there are arguments on both sides for this classification. Mostly it seems that it benefits the WWE far more than the wrestlers. The WWE's response is below and you can find a lot of discussion about the wrestlers' side online.

Thought it was Jake said some not nice things about his dad. Not being main event material or something

That was years ago on Roddy Piper's podcast. From what I read Jr didn't like that held the anger for years. Jake did not mention anything about his father during Wrestlecon.

Yeah, the impression I got was that Jake was attempting to bury the hatchet since he most likely said that when he was strung out. Clearly DBSjr has no interest in doing so.

Can someone answer me this, what makes the Young Bucks so popular? Nothing against their success I'm simply curious to read everyone's opinion on them.

I think its a combination of their willingness to go, a DIY attitude in regards to merch and making WWE money on their own terms, and probably just the stigma of being popular for being popular. I respect what they do even though i'm not always thrilled by it, and they're great at ruining perfectly good matches with dumb overworked spots, but they are entertaining.

First caught them on the Chikara King of Trios tournaments in the late Oughts with Malikai as the Jackson 3. I think they were on Dragongate USA as well? I remember liking what they did then too, though i'm hard-pressed to remember more than flips or kicks.

Jake had commented that The Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith were, unsurprisingly, assholes backstage. In one instance, they dumped cigarettes in Jake's snake bag; as a result, Jake was bitten by an agitated Damien.

Everything about them is done to near comical extremes.

A normal wrestler does a superkick to end a match or be a high spot. They'll do 27 of them.

Their tag team finisher is one guy doing a top rope shooting star press to assist the other guy, who is getting ready to drop a tombstone piledriver.

Some guys design and market their own merch....whike the Bucks had 99000 tshirt designs.

Nevermind being part of both the Elite and the larger stable of Bullet Club. Working both RoH and NJPW full-time.

They throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.
