Here you go. I'm very much an amateur, I just want them to look a little better.

I'm kind of intimidated in getting this one due to its famously complex transformation. But oh how I love how he looks!!! I love Warpath.

The prices went up since when I got mine:

1/60 VF-1J Valkyrie Milia Fallyna Jenius Type with Super Parts

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't recall paying that much, but then I got mine in 2011, I think. These are really nice collector pieces. I can't call them toys, but they're not models either. You kind of have to be careful with the shoulder transformation arms when transforming it. Once they're in their place, they are fine. Tons of details, beautiful paint apps, and they look amazing in every mode.

No VF-1S available anymore? Is that the kind you got?

VF-1S Hikaru is the one who looks most like Jetfire. Hikaru being the pilot with red markings. The S in VF-1S denotes the same head as used on Jetfire.

It came out in 2013 at $173 shipped. Aftermarket prices are going to be more.

The latest to come out is the Milia VF-1J, with a predominantly red color scheme.

These are all 1/60 scale Arcadia. If you want a bigger Jetfire in relation to Warpath, you can look for the 1/48 scale Yamato VF-1S. They're older but still pretty cool.

As Sportimus said, these are comparable to expensive, high end 3rd party figures. Including the stupid fragile parts, or parts that crumble with age.

Any other questions we can take to PM, so we don't go off-topic too much lol.

Arcadia released a VF-1S Hikaru with Super Parts in 2017; Miria and Max were released at the end of 2017. They are about 22000 Y new, MSRP.

Back on topic, I have noted that one thing that is signature to Warpath's look is that that dusky red, almost like Thrust. It's striking because no other G1 Autobot is that kind of red.

I have the Roy Fokker VF-1S. It has the yellow instead of the red markings. These in general are not easy to find, but sometimes HLJ, AmiAmi gets them in. They're also Hi-Metal versions at a smaller scale by Bandai I think. But those won't go well with MP's. And I stand corrected, I got mine in 2013. Prices were lower then.

If you do decide to hunt these down, you'll shell out quite a bit of $$$ for them new for the Yamato and Arcadia VF-1. Arcadia now makes these, but before they were made by Yamato. If you find Yamato 1/60 VF's make sure that it is a Version 2 run where they improved the shoulders (but still should be treated with care just in case). I also have a Roy Fokker "Stealth" VF-1S which has a "rainbow" canopy. Stay away from those as they are known to crack. Mine is fine after all these years, but I don't handle it much. other than dusting it. There is a Macross/Robotech thread in the Toy Ark. Those guys who post there can tell you EVERYTHING you need to know and then some about these and anything else pertaining to Macross VF's:

    The Macross Thread

Yamato became Arcadia a few years back, right? I think Yamato did fix the shoulders on their V.2 VF-1's, but they should still be treated with care.

Thanks for that. Where did you get the props? I may get war dog next month. Anyone else think I should get him? I’ve dealt with transformations line Koot, Apache And MP36. So complexity isn’t an issue.

I still like mine, but I would put him in a complexity level higher than MP-36. I never had the urge to through Megatron against the wall, but War Dog....

No problem. What do you mean by props?

I like him fine and I've transformed him numerous times. The shoulders and the forearms are fiddly. Other than that it's not so bad.

Gave you a thumbs up, not because I need a Wardog, but because that cat is adorable.

Looks like you have to resort to swapping out cockpits / nosecones to go from Valkyrie to full bot mode.

    Sorry to hear.

I miss my old cats. They were like members of the family (and they knew it).

Actually no, you don't. With the first versions from Yamato you had to relocate the legs for fighter and battroid modes, but their 2.0 versions (from which Arcadia molds where based) had a swingbar for "perfect transformation".
