Haha, or the "Why can't some studio pay them to make a show using these figures?" comments. (Which was my first reaction to these in this very thread I believe :lol ) It really is true, though. I would faithfully watch a series or back a Patreon or something for a show like this. But ideally something official with a great cast.

That's simply because your GIFs ARE better than all the Bay movies.

    :lol

Wow.. I guess you're the best GIF Animator that i've ever seen.
The level of detail of your recreation of the G1 of old.
I can imagine the time you've spent on creating this stuffs.
What a dedication to the craft you have. Wow.. Just f*ckin' WOW.
I've done short 2 GIFs in my 10 years of collecting hobby but those 2 already ate my time.

man, like, if we ended up actually having a sponsor (like... hasbro/sunbow) that funded us to recreate the series and paid enough to be a full time job....

man that'd be like the one thing that's pull me out of TF retirement.

I'm happy you all enjoyed our work! @OptimusTimelord is way too darn modest! lol

OT filmed Trailbreaker and Hound in the first shot, Mirage Jack and Bee, Optimus by himself running and the final shootout of autobots (though bumblebee and Ironhide were added by me)
the background, the special effects, everything decepticon related, and half of the autobot shots were filmed by myself

It's a nice thought! Even doing it full time though, it would still take years to do even a short series. More money doesn't make the work go any faster...
I guess because that Optimus running shot was done a few years ago I kinda forget about it (it'll be in this thread somewhere). But thanks for so gallantly sharing the credit bud (even putting my logo at the start! Wasn't expecting that :lol ).

if movies like coraline and such can be made within a couple years, a season of transformers cartoons should be doable, especially if the money went to making the "cheating" easier so all you had to do is replicate the poses with the toys and then hand off to the polishing and cheating section.
honestly though, I wouldn't want this to turn into a pure TF:REGen1, I would rather have stuff like target 2006, or other comic stories loved by many, but only ever 2D before being made to move with real toys.

Why have you gone into Transformers retirement if you don't mind me asking?

@Optimus Timelord. No pressure as art cannot be rushed but are you close to releasing your Target 2006 animation?

By the way, I've been a fan of both of your works for the past few years and you both come across as genuinely nice guys in your posts.

I just had my second baby and I've got waaaay too many fanily responsibilties currently. Maybe in a few years I'll rebuy everything and get back into animating, but for now everything has sold and I'm putting the money towards my kids

Ha ha, yeah I guess, but I don't see that happening!
I love stop motion movies like Coraline, Nightmare Before Christmas, Wallace & Gromit etc, but when you watch behind-the-scenes stuff you realise just what an incredible amount of time, money, people and such it takes to create them. It makes my two-minutes-every-six-months look pretty impressive for one guy on his own in his spare time! Also I don't think I'd want to get tied down to a treadmill like that, I like being able to dart around from one video to the next so that I'm not constantly animating the same characters. And hopefully it will diversify in the future to cover more comic scenes (I have a few ideas I want to do, but MP figures simply don't exist yet for them).
Thanks, and funnily enough most animators do seem to be nice guys; I think it's because it takes a certain type of personality to do this - creative, patient, thoughtful, self-critical. Modest :lol

As for Target: 2006, it currently sits unfinished because when the official music release was announced I thought I'd be able to use that for a better quality soundtrack, but so far it has only come out on vinyl. I'm nearly done with a scene from Fire in the Sky, so my current plan is to put that up next as a gap filler then return to Target as hopefully the next vid.

I simply was thinking that if you guys got funded, you'd be more the "lead director" than "primary poser"

Have you already got your mitts on the digital Fan-restored tracks from the TF Cog? Or are you after higher quality than them?

Yeah I have them, but the quality is pretty poor... Now that we have an official release, I figure I just need to wait for it to come out on a format I can actually use!

Impressive! Can't imagine the amount of time and work spent on this, but I can totally see the amount of love you have invested.
I never imagined a transformers stop motion could look this good but you really have done an amazing and beautiful work. Congratulations!
