Always a fan of Iron Factory's offerings. One thing I can't get enough is how Iron Factory utilizes translucent plastic in their pieces - it really makes them pop! Can't wait to see their other releases in color.

To be honest the main reason I buy the IF versions at all anymore is to support/encourage them to make more toys for MFT to improve. :lol

Oh he'll be the perfect size if they bump him up to at least the same head height of their Sixshot or NB Overlord. Otherwise he's a little too small for my preferences:

Can't wait, already got my PO in with baba during the 15% off eBay sale last week. His listing said he'd have it in mid-May, hopefully that proves true. It does look like it's pretty much final with all of these pics we've had the last 2 weeks.

The Chosen Prime has Jetfire pegged for July, but all these finished test pieces do suggest that Jetfire has been bumped up to the first spring release for IF.

I had been hoping to sneak Slipstream in while I’m budgeting something a little bigger for May, but I’ll probably get this guy in June or July, assuming he doesn’t immediately sell out

Then again, I don’t think that Iron Factory’s Jetfire will go out of stock immediately :D

    Moreover, he’s freaking huge!

And, with his forward shoulder butterfly joints, I still wonder if maybe one of Perfect Effect’s Leonidas / (Black) Gorira Jr would work magic in his hands, or if it just wouldn’t work at all because of the tab and you’d have to use the hatchets anyway.

One more thing, I sure hope IF Jetfire comes with a stand!

Hm..I was hoping there would be an "unarmored" jet mode like the Classics Voyager, but it's looking like that's not the case. :(

Well, the arm and leg armor is obviously removable.

And though this video shows the entire wing/booster assembly being removed to combine with Optimus, it looks like you can also remove just the boosters:

You'll just be left with a red brick on top of the jet.

Yeah, the video didnt show everything.

And i think there is a chance that Gerwalk mode might be feasible.

For me, it’s actually the one part of the design I DON’T love!

I agree that the dx9 ‘skirt’ hip solution that they often use isn’t great, but here it looks to me like the hip flaps block forward range of movement on jet fire. The crotch ‘crunch’ looks to compensate a little for it, but I’m hoping the flaps can be popped off to increase the range, myself.

    But hey, hopefully I’m wrong!

IF-Fire can definitely Gerwalk, @zfarsh, but I dunno if that’s with a humanoid or avian knee orientation. But, if you can’t fully rotate the hips when half transformed, then it might not do the full Chicken (Ger)walk.

And, it definitely seems like there is no separating the wings from the jetpack without some serious kitbashing...

    5A2B5CC6-0094-450D-80FD-C34546A10EE8.png

Now, maybe the boosters are slid onto a railing, @IronMagnus and @delta7890, and so you can slide them right off, assuming they aren’t glued in place. It doesn’t seem like they are screwed into the backpack, but they might well be bonded in place with some kind of glue.

    But, most of all—

Do not yank Jetfire’s head off of that ball joint!

Get a jeweler’s screwdriver and Turn, Turn, Turn, as Pete Seeger would say

So, by Solus, it’d be a real turn of the spoil spark if Iron Factory doesn’t have a screw on the back of the face plate head.

Looks like if you leave the knees unlocked you will be able to get a proper "chicken" gerwalk. Super excited for this guy! And crap now I need IF Prime....

I don't think they're attached to the middle red part at all, I think they peg on to the white plate that comes out of it.

    IF_jetfire_boosters.PNG

    IF_jetfire_boosters2.PNG

I managed to get these screen grabs of the transformation process and it looks like there is a gap between the left booster and the middle part.

I don't think IF would've released those official shots of Jetfire without the boosters if they weren't easily removable. So as I said before, it looks like you can remove the boosters, you'll just be left with a red brick on top of the jet.

If you can't find an IF optimus prime, just wait and get their upcoming Nova Prime.

I CANT WAIT to see how Jetfire looks with Nova Prime's wings...
